This is the first release of my in-progress western multiplayer game El Pistoleros. I got this idea from games like TowerFall, Duck Game, and (strongly) Samurai Gunn. Actually yeah, this game is kind of Samurai Gunn, except instead of Akira Kurosawa, it’s Sergio Leone.
Theres currently one game type, which is Surivial move. It’s very comparable to counter strike competitive mode: set number of rounds, whoever wins the majority wins. The winner of each round depends on the last person standing. I want to include a lot more game modes in the future, but they’ll all revolve around fast-paced action.
Currently, this game requires a plugged-in Xbox 360 controller. I may try to add in mouse/keyboard controls in later on, but right now the controller feels the most comfortable. Also pro-tip: since you use both analog sticks, I’ve mapped jump to LB as well so you’ll be free to jump AND aim at the same time. It’s a bit weird, so A is also mapped to jump.
The background music is by Ennio Morricone, the famous componser who scored a lot of famous spaghetti western films. I doubt I’ll ever have the money to license his music, so it’s currently a placeholder for any composer who can match that sound. Therefore, I’m leaving the game totally free partially for this reason (also because this game is still in development, and I just want feedback & for people to have fun).
That’s all I’ve got. If people like this, I’ll keep adding to it. Heck, maybe I’ll try to get this thing working on an Ouya.
