GAME OF THE YEAR IS ALREADY HERE!
The idea for this game came from a dumb offhand joke a friend made while we were watching Heretic. A joke that very clearly spiraled way too far and eventually turned into this parody visual novel. It takes the original setup from the movie and twists it into something intentionally stupid.
I should also say, I’ve never made a visual novel before. I wasn’t familiar with any of the usual software people use for them, so I decided to make this entirely in Unity, which is the engine I’m most comfortable with. This definitely kills the typical visual novel feel, but I wasn’t about to spend time researching and learning a new engine just to support a joke that got out of hand.
