TL;DR AT THE END
An Announcement Regarding Camp Cataclysm Development and Transparency
This is gonna be a long message so if you don't care to read the entire announcement there will be a tl;dr attached at the end.
I'd like to start this off by thanking each and every one of you here in the CC Community server, we couldn't have asked for a more creative and understanding fanbase, and a passionate dev team willing to push through thick and thin for the project. There's been a lot of roadblocks, a lot of devs who have come and gone through the two very different eras of CC's development and it means a lot to us to have a dedicated team.
Now onto *why* I'm making this announcement in the first place, it's obvious a lot of people have noticed there's not a whole lot of teasers, progress seems slow, and there's a lot of shifts inside the development team; and I'd like to clear the room and let everyone know what's been going on. Of course many of the members are familiar with the old era of CC ran by the former owner, there was a lot of questionable decisions; basically anyone was getting brought onto the team, everything was getting revealed and shown off without proper permissions, and there was constant infighting in the development team. Due to ownership transferring, many of those issues have persisted into the current era of CC we're in, we cut a majority of the roster, but most of our new roster is still public knowledge due to his decision leaving us with less to space out and share ourselves. We downsized the CC team a few times, removing inactive devs, and to adjust how many devs work for the game and to keep styles consistent across the board instead of it feeling like an unorganized mess of differing styles. As the new directors we have attempted to settle issues civilly and as professionally as we can but we also feel there is still certain remnants of how the old owner handled interacting with the devs, as well as CC as a whole that are holding us back just a little.
Our current developers are insanely talented, so talented that most of them work on multiple other Roblox projects you may or may not know! We consider CC a passion project first and foremost, so we keep deadlines minimal but reasonable so progress isn't completely static. That unfortunately does mean for you the community that progress, especially around this time with many of our developers being in high school/university having to focus on exams and other personal responsibilities, will be slow. There is a LOT going on behind the scenes that we want to show off but we want to save for the right time to do so; so many chase themes, model, props/items, maps, we'd love to show to the community, but we want to present it in a way that feels special. Our usual teasers will likely be even less frequent, but when we drop a teaser, expect something fantastic, similar to The Apex Chase Theme reveal or John's Remodel reveal.
So where do we go from here? Abby and the directors are incredibly passionate about CC and want to see it succeed, not because we want to make a bunch of Robux or get famous, but because we want to make a product we're proud of with a team that has a similar mindset. We, the directors, have each decided from the start we wouldn't earn a cent from the development of CC and any donations, UGC purchases, and in-game transactions would go straight to the pockets of our talented developers once we reach the Release build, with each member of the dev team being paid for their contributions, no sooner, no later. No matter what, we want this game to come out for all of you to enjoy, because so many of you have donated so much time and Robux into this passion project. We just can't promise when it will come out and who will be on the team when it does, but we will keep working till it does.
TL;DR
There's been a lot happening behind the scenes, (most) teasers will be less frequent but feel special, CC is a passion project, until full release, so development will be slow as no one has an obligation besides their passion for the game.
