Another day, another update
I have finally found a way to fix the issue where you needed to restart the whole game if you died, or just restarted the game in general. The issue would cause doors to be impossible to open. I also added a new weapon, but that is hidden away.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.
In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
