Mechanic Reworks
So like, the main counter against animatronics up until now was this thing called a 'Reset Ping', and when the animatronics were 1 room outside your office, you need to press it, so, essentially is was just a 'CLICK ME FOR SAFETY!' button, and that's quite boring, and not really fun, nor original.
So, I thought of reworking it to be a thing called "Reset Transmitter" which will work like this:
Each animatronic has a base channel (like their “home station”, which gets closer to you each night).
But each time you reset them, the channel changes (random within a small range, range increases based on the night and difficulty you're playing on).
Scanning a camera gives you a clue on what Frequency they use. (Eg. "Minu is connected to a frequency range of 200-300hz.")
When they attack, you need to quickly tune your transmitter to their current channel within that range. (The transmitter will beep as a hint to how close you are)
Mess up and you either delay them, bring another animatronic, or waste time.
It has limited battery, though, use it for too long and you will need to wait for it to recharge (-1% every 5.6 seconds of use, time decreases each night and based on difficulty)
Oh, and speaking of difficulty, I am thinking of adding difficulty selection to add more replayability, here's how that'll work:
Easy Mode:
Low Difficulty Scaling
No Permadeath (You don't lose progress after dying)
Casual Mode:
Intended Difficulty Scaling
No Permadeath (You don't lose all progress after dying)
Intended:
Intended Difficulty Scaling
Permadeath (You lose all progress after dying)
NIGHTMARE:
Hard Difficulty Scaling
Permadeath (You lose all progress after dying)
Quality Indecisiveness
Lately I've been going back and forth from "This game fucking sucks" to "This is the coolest game ever", which is why I am doing these reworks to the gameplay (from the 2 previous "Chapters" in the article) in the first place. If you read this until the end, comment "Sammy sam sam." and tell me your thoughts on these 2 new features I am planning on adding.
Worries
I am honestly quite worried I'd disappoint everyone or just get eaten alive to release ts too early than release, I know probably nobody pays attention to these, but the feeling to hurry because time is short and running out fast is still there.
Thanks for reading! :)
