Third Devlog

In my third Devlog, I will be covering the switch from an Undertale mod to it's own fangame -
As well as my progress on the Starting Area of Rivertale: Riverboy's home - New Home

MOD OR FANGAME?
As you may or may not know, up until this point, Rivertale has been an Undertale mod.
And as you may or may not know from a recent post of mine, I started to learn coding with Gamemaker 
-> Hence, I restarted the whole project for a third time, and it will now be a stand-alone fangame made using said game engine! 
It's funny how there's been a new iteration of Rivertale every year since it's start
2023 - First Mod - Old Demo
2024 - Second Mod - Shown in first 2 Devlogs
2025 - Third Iteration - Own GameWatch me restart for a fourth time in 2026

Here's a comparison between Riverboy's room a year ago vs. now ^^
For the full game, I chose not to include any sprites ripped straight from Undertale.
Even tho the Tilesets might seem nearly identical in some places, I made sure to at least revamp them slightly :}

Me and my friends never quite liked the newr, so I simply chose to revert it to the very first one

STORY
I didn't purely restart just to make Rivertale a stand-alone fangame, even though that was one of my primary reasons.
But I also came to realize that the first 2 iterations didn't really have much thought behind them, story-wise.
So this time, I actually made sure to write out (at least a rough) plan of Rivertale's gameplay and story 
I won't go into detail though.
Here's one singular teaser:
