Making a game is easy. Making a polished, professional one worth other people’s money is hard. That’s why I haven’t done it. Enjoy the free game!
Seriously, though, this project is pretty early in development. I still have to add audio/video options and listen to player feedback (which I always appreciate, don’t be afraid to be harsh). It’s come a long way since the beginning, though, so let me explain how it all started.
StS started as a small side-project in college. As my first semi-professional game, I didn’t want to make something too complex to finish, but it had to be unique enough to be interesting. So I made this.
I already had experience with Unreal Engine 4 from some other projects, so it was a natural choice. After starting from a preset, I experimented with level design, eventually making the procedural maps you see now.
Shortly afterwards, I tasked my roomate with playtesting (thanks, Ryan!), added some visual polish, and tweaked the controls. And here we are.
So thank you for reading, and thank you for playing!
Fun fact: It was originally going to be an open-world RPG, with combat, weather, and NPCs. Maybe in a sequel ;)
tl;dr:
please play my game
