Block Tales: Swords of Time
Minos Prime & ULTRAKILL-Themed Cards Concepts

If the player completes the entirety of any chapter (excluding Demo 4, pre-prologue, and prologue) without dying, Minos Prime's boss fight is unlocked and replaces the ending cutscene of Demo 3 after Hatred's boss fight.

The player wakes up in a classic looking version of P-1 just as Minos' soul orb slowly falls. The player approaches it, only for it to shatter and Minos to appear.

(Edit: I made this text in Microsoft Word and only just now realized that there is a typing line next to "DEATH." Oopsies )
The battle begins.

Moveset:

  • All of Minos Prime's attacks can be countered, and doing so counts as a 'Parry'. Parrying attacks negate all damage and deal 3 damage to the enemy whose attack was parried and also heals the player half of the damage the attack would have done (ex. An attack that would deal 4 damage heals 2 HP when parried.)

  • Minos Prime's dialogue invades the Combat Log in a similar fashion to Hatred or The Ancients' attacks, except the text is in Minos' color (a very faint pastel blue, if you couldn't tell from the above dialogue).

Dropkick
Combat Log - JUDGMENT!

  • Minos does his signature dropkick. Its timing is similar to the Sentient Statue's "Unexpected Zooming" attack or Temple Guardian's left hand's "Left Zooming" and deals 8 damage. This attack is unparriable if there are other party members, in which the attack becomes a group attack.

Boxing Combo
Combat Log - (Player)'s end is NOW!

  • Minos appears in front of the player and performs the boxing combo like in Ultrakill. The first three punches can be SuperGuarded but not parried, excluding the final fourth one. Each punch does 5 damage, totaling to 20 damage if no punches are dodged.

Kick Combo
Combat Log - (Player) must prepare thyself!

  • Minos appears in front of the player and kicks them, then appears behind them and kicks them again. Both kicks can be parried and each deal 6 damage; 12 damage total.

Ground Slam
Combat Log - CRUSH!

  • Minos leaps into the air and immediately slams into the player. This attacks becomes a splash attack if there are other party members and deals 10 damage.

Stats:
HP: 65
DEF: 2
Attributes:
Mobile & Double Turns
PROCs:
Same as HATRED's (see Block Tales Wiki)

After the player wins, a cutscene identical to Minos' losing speech plays. After dying, Minos drops a card and a new weapon: the Parry card and the Piercer respectfully. The screen fades to black, and the Demo 3 ending cutscene plays.

The Parry card costs 3 SP and allows the parrying buff to be used outside of Minos' battle, acting as a Passive. Attacks that cannot be countered cannot be parried.

The Piercer is literally just the Piercer Revolver from Ultrakill, but there's more to it, I swear.

Also, Minos can be fought again by answering "Lament" to the Guru.

The Piercer
Description: "A revolver that can destroy all objects with a Charged Shot. Deals 5 damage and Lv1 Dizzyness to all enemies if the action command is timed correctly."

  • The Piercer is stored in the 'Other' tab in the Action UI like all the other weapons and costs 6 SP. It deals upwards of 5 damage and Lv1 Dizzyness for 1 turns to adjacent enemies if the action command is timed, enabling a Charged Shot. Failing to hit the action command deals only upwards of 4 damage and Lv1 Dizzyness for 1 turn to the closest enemy.

  • The Piercer can also be used in the overworld. If the Q key is pressed, the player immediately fires a shot in whichever direction they're facing. The shot has no distance limit and is only stopped by a wall or an enemy. If an enemy is hit, it initiates a battle and applies Lv1 First Strike to the player. If Q is held and released, the player fires a visibly bigger Charged Shot and obstructions like tall grass, wooden boards, windows, and even rubble can be destroyed by the Piercer Revolver depending how long it was charged up. Hitting an enemy with a Charged Shot also applies Lv1 First Strike to the player.

After receiving the Piercer, four new cards can be bought in the In The Cards shop: Marksman; Sharpshooter; ATK-FX P and Dual Wield.

The Marksman
Cost: 100 Tix
Description: "Replaces Piercer, deals +1 damage with properly timed action command and -1 damage if failed. Charged Shots are replaced by Ricoshots."

  • The Marksman card is a Weapon Alternative to the Piercer, similar to the Rocket Launcher or Slingshot and costs 4 SP in battle. It deals upwards of 4 damage in battle and upwards of 6 damage if a Ricoshot is performed. No dizzyness is applied to enemies.

  • Ricoshots replace the Piercer's Charged Shot, making the action command's timing denser in exchange for more damage. When the player successfully performs a Ricoshot, the animation that plays on their character is eerily similar to a certain captain's attack.

    • Speaking of, if the Marksman is equipped during Captain Trotter's boss fight and he performs his Coin Flip move, it will always default to the singular shot version instead of the triple shot. With the Marksman equipped, the player's guarding window is increased by 75% for only this attack and if it is successfully SuperGuarded, the player performs a Counter-Ricoshot; firing at Captain Trotter's coin with their Marksman and dealing 10 damage to him.

      • If the player successfully performs a ricoshot during Captain Trotter's boss fight, there is a 10% chance that Trotter will perform a counterricoshot against the player, dealing 15 damage.

    • Ricoshots can be performed in the overworld. When holding Q, the player will toss a coin and it will fall down. Shooting immediately after tossing the coin causes the player to shoot at the coin, which redirects it to the nearest obstruction or enemy. Any obstruction is immediately destroyed, and hitting an enemy applies Lv2 First Strike to the player. If there are no obstructions or enemies, nothing happens.

The Sharpshooter
Cost: 100 Tix
Description: "Replaces Piercer, deals -1 damage but inflicts stronger Dizzyness and +2 damage upon a successfully timed action command."

  • Another Weapon Alternative to the Piercer that is more similar to it in comparison to the Marksman. Regardless if the action command is timed properly or not, the player will always perform a ricosheting shot: where the player aims the gun at the ceiling, the bullet ricochets and a random enemy is selected as the target. Failing to time the action command results in upwards of 4 damage and Lv1 Dizzyness for 1 turn, and succeeding leads to upwards of 7 damage and Lv3 Dizzyness for 2 turns.

  • The animation that plays whilst in the action command timing is of the player spinning the Sharpshooter. This will be important for later.

ATK-FX P
Cost: 120 Tix
Description: "Attacks will make Ultrakill sounds and Ultrakill particles. Stackable with other cosmetic cards."

  • do i really have to say anything ffs

Dual Wield
Cost: 800 Tix
Description: "Makes you perform an attack twice. Extra turn in solo play is ignored."

  • Alters the animations of all attacks to include the player holding two of the same weapon, excluding the Jet Boots.

  • Items and strategies are competely ignored by this card.

  • Special cards will be used twice if the player has enough NRG.

  • If the Sharpshooter is equipped with this card, if the player continued holding space whilst attempting to hit the action command, an animation will play where the player, holding and spinning two Sharpshooters, will start to gain lift and eventually fly away from battle like a helicopter; automatically leaving it. This animation cannot be cancelled once enabled.

    • This animation does not play when in a boss battle.

    • When you enable the animation for the first time, you'll get a le totally epik awesomesauce achievement.

    • If this happens, the combat log will state: "(Player) is flying away from battle!"
