Not much I can say, but what I do know that I'm definitely going back on developing the game by Monday, so that's good.
So anyway, back on the game development that is meant to documented, I have finished sprites of 8bitant. Ayup, we're doing a cameo. Sorta, because it's for a remake, so obviously this is not something we made from scratch and for a WTF event only. I've been also working on several face artwork for said remake, but I'm facing issues that would complicate the release of the game, since I'm planning to have it be released both for GameJolt and Newgrounds. Now, obviously this doesn't sound such a BIG deal, but thing is Newgrounds has limits, like GameJolt, but Newgrounds is meant to be a platform FOR artists. For example, in Newground's Game Portal guidelines (Which you seriously NEED to read first.)...
"Your submission must not be a modified version of someone else's work, including tutorial files."
This rule is meant to stop people from submitting content with similar submissions from other people, but because this is the LAW, it can be interpreted for any way possible, which gives in a complication. Now, because I'm using RPG Maker MV for a game that isn't made for MV (Which was made in likely 2k/2k3.), it would be very easy to argue that it's a remake. But with Exedor's word on the matter for the Elite Guard Barracks (For new comers to Newgrounds, it's a forum dedicating for mainly grinding Whistle points, gained by correctly reporting content, by posting content that violates the respective guideline.), it's almost a reason why I can't post the game on Newgrounds because it's not my work through and through. It's a remake and I didn't do the whole process of making everything, just redoing it, so the best option for me at the moment is make the Newground release more or less a demo with content I didn't make out of it, with the option to play or download the whole game on it's GameJolt page. And I really don't wanna just go through posting the whole game and then having to appeal my case about whether it should stay on the Game Portal, hoping it works on my favor. Because sure, I was banned from the Audio Portal, but that was because of a song I made, Beat is Fun, used the WTF Boom meme, in which another song that I didn't know that exists used that as well, which caused P-Bot to message me "Hey, your song may be infringing 'Bounce' by Dom!no," and I just thought: "The fuck is that song? Gotta appeal for this one." Which it did work and now I'm no longer banned.
And for remakes, yeah, I was thinking of a remake of JA, but not so much of a remake, if anything, it's more or less a RESET of the franchise. Do something different for once that wasn't meant to exist but it wouldn't hurt to be experimental, and also that wasn't exactly a direct sequel nor prequel to any of the games. It's meant to be a stand-alone and I doubt I would have any plans to continue it.
So see y'all on the next devlog.
