...And we have hit the completely unfunny number for our first March devlog. Hooray. This calls for a mandatory laugh session.
Stop laughing now.
So anyway, I haven't done much progress for this week, which is pretty lame, because while I wish I CAN tell you what I've been developing, but those projects aren't ones I can tell because I like secrets. I think I've said multiple times too much at this point, so I might as well start talking about other projects.
So mine is a Pokemon fan game, it's not exactly going to be detailed as the mainline games, in fact, for a challenge to me, it's made in RPG Maker 2003. So essentially, I have less to work with compared to RPG Maker MV, unless you want to consider EasyRPG or the Maniac's Patch, but the two are a double edged swords, as either don't exactly work together, since EasyRPG doesn't support the patch itself completely, but it provides HTML support and there's multi-language options. And the Maniac's Patch provides deal breakers like the option to disable Row commands (Albeit via Change Battle Commands EX.), String Pictures, the ability to use expressions for variables and such, it comes at the cost of not able to put this as a HTML game and for translations, it requires an actual mod for it.
Also, because I was playing shitty ass games with bad game design, I decided to plan on creating a new skill for Imasu in this game, being the skill "Enemy Scan." You can learn it by the second dungeon, in which it allows you to skip the process of learning an enemy's weakness or resistances by trial and error, which can be frustrating if the enemy blocks, repels, or drains that element and if the player doesn't have any way to know what elemental skills to prioritize, it'll degrade the experience as you're essentially picking a certain skill that deals big numbers. It's not as rewarding as say killing the enemy by their weakness or maximizing your damage output to beat an enemy or a boss faster, since what you're effectively doing from what I've previously said is hoping whether or not you can exploit a certain weakness.
That's all for today.
