Oh hey, we hit the Windows 97 devlog. Also it's the last Sunday for this month.
Okay, so I forgot to mention this in the previous devlog. If you think holding Shift and then pressing Z hurts your hands, then don't worry, there's a new plugin in town thanks to Fallen Angel Olivia, which is basically Skip Cutscene and basically does the thing it's called for. Just hold the Cancel button and boop, cutscene is skipped.
One flaw about it is that you must put in a fade-in command once the Skip Target label is placed, because once it skips, it'll automatically fade out, and that's something I can't really change. But oh well.
Now, I remember that in the original game, TP was "unused." And when I mean by "unused," I mean that it's actually is used, just only for Kabi's Snap skill. You see, Snap can be activated by two ways; once her TP reaches 80 AND by manually. The former requires that once TP reaches 80, Snap will be forced to activate by a 20% chance. In the latter, however, the skill can be activated once you have 80 TP. Other party members don't use TP, but what if there's a consequence for having too much TP?
TP will be redesigned into Stress Points, or simply SP. SP works as a way to serve as either a debuff OR a buff to the characters. For example, Imasu can benefit from SP as SP can boost his stats, furthering enhancing his abilites. However, someone like Jonathan gets worse in battle as if they have the SP maxed until they get it down to 0. But expect an item to have keywords like "Stresses" and "Calms" in the description, because they're like increase and decrease accordingly.
Speaking of strategy, I do plan another idea for items. Let's call them "Friendship items" as they serve as a way to restore HP or MP on the basis on who you're giving it to. The idea is that you may want to stock up on these items to improve or ruin your relationship with these items. For example, Kabi may prefer sweet foods, but not prefer bitter or savory foods, which is what Imasu prefers the most of. By giving Kabi say a cookie, this increases the HP and also Jonathan's friendship with her. However, if Jonathan gives tea to Kabi, the HP recovery is worsen and this results lowers Jonathan's friendship with her. But to make sure you have to go out and get them, friendship items require you to cook them. Ingredients can be collected as either loot or by manually shopping for them. While some ingredients can be used much like friendship items, they don't recover much compared to foods you can cook. Foods that require more ingredients will naturally result in a higher effect, but require you to actually go and find those recipes.
And that's about it for this devlog, so see you in October.
