What happened?


Well, I did it.

In honor of the old drugs.png, here is it for it's last time.

It's not as abstract as the original, but hey, it's MUCH bigger and much more color focused. In the original, it's a mess but it's arguably deliberate, because of the naming, but now, for the new version, it's now in flames and some random colors that you can see. I don't exactly remember what was the sources for the old drugs.png at all, so you're going to have a goddamn field day if you really want to find all of its sources. Why this? It's arguably because alot of the used backgrounds don't necessarily use green that much, since either red or blue's a common color in them. It's a good contrast color wise since the enemies that you DO fight with this background aren't remotely green and also a color that I mainly associate with neutrality in this game and somewhat represents Jonathan.

Speaking of Jonathan, I've been designing the last dungeon of the game, which the theme of it is some mystic dungeon that's above the sky and hidden from sight, in which you start from a road and then into a mansion that's internally built by photographs. In this dungeon, there's a optional harder sub-boss in which before countering the final boss, in which they are representatives of the clones Jonathan has fought in the Elsewhere Police Station and the mall, but they're grayed out, because to Jonathan, they're nothing but mere copies of him. He doesn't see the "life" in them. And for the life of me, they take a HELL amount of time to make.

You see, the graphics for them LACK any line art, so that means I have to use color and shading to contrast certain body parts, like clothing, hair, and certain items they hold. This isn't an easy part, since it means I have to put LAYERS in groups. So far, there's 179 layers it uses. Yes. 179 layers. That's what GIMP is telling me (Excluding 6 since they're not included in the final art.). And the most hardest one SO FAR isn't the Kabis (Mostly because I haven't gotten to drawing them YET.), it's one Sasara clone with a kimono. You see, the kimono has a pattern I use both for its overworld AND battle sprites, which is harder since it's mainly restricted to monochrome colors AND must have a fuzzy-ish dreamlike feel, plus it's posing. Have I ever drawn someone praying? Nope. This is my first time. So thankfully I do a sketch FIRST to get an idea of what it looks like. I can't show it to you because it's SPOILERS, so use your imagination, and then do another group for the final art with shading included.

With that out of the way, speaking of clones, I did finish the Kabi ones. Which means I still have to do the facesets, overworld sprites, and an extra enemy image for the harder variants.

Now that I think about it... I have an idea; what if I made a comic that's styled like a Yonkoma Manga for the devlogs? That sounds like an interesting idea to do and possibly use them for the strategy guide, all of them in here into one.


No Tomodachi Life segment this time, so next.


Ok, so I've been working on ANOTHER project that I just made today. It's basically an idea based on one of the screens from the smaller project I was talking about from the 85th entry. So it's called Adam's MISAdventures and it's basically Adam doing 3 randomly picked chores of the week but with added twists so it's not REALLY a normal thing you just do. Yes, Zane is included in the game, and some of the things you do in the game do involve her in some way. Like Zane's Bizarre Candy Hunt, there are dialogue that can happen based on who is in the party. Though I'm not sure if I wanna put more than 4 party members, since yeah, it'll be neato to have Adam, Enaz, Amelia Jr. and Alex, but I'm not sure if I do wanna do it or not.
