We think it's an altered form of human life, dna splicing maybe? I'm not sure..
Richard had it hooked up inside a glass cell and is studying its behavior alongside Tsu at day time, Tren and I at night. Joint movements are surprisingly normal, akin to a humans, but with regular moments of stiffness. The legs have noticeable trouble on this even terrain, wobbly I'd describe it with. The feet are odd, triangular shaped and almost cut Tsu when we captured it.
But what's really freaky is the eyes on its sleeve, we don't have a concrete explanation for them. Tren thinks its kind lives in cave-like environments full of spikes and that eyes on the arms are easier to protect, without needing to duck every 5 seconds to avoid important organs getting destroyed. However that would be contradicting the heart-like tissue often left open on the head. That's why Tren is the stupid one.
The holes littered throughout the body were theorized to be caused by idiopathic bacteria eating at the cells. Turns out its BREATHING with them like home-made tracheostomies. I shudder everytime I see them move.
Unlike our nerves, its are mostly stationed outside the body:
Yesterday, after pumping nitrous oxide into the confinement, we went inside with gas masks and tried extracting a small sample before realizing that they're extremely tough and not easily detachable. Even the bonesaw couldn't do much... there goes our ability to test them. Well, fully test them atleast. (Taking a nerve out while they're resting inside the body is too inhumane for the others, backwards logic much? Plus, I can't be bothered). We put all types of different objects and elements and rubbed them onto the nerves to search for allergies (Higher ups request). Carbon seems to irritate them, maybe if we put enough of it on, the nerves resistance will falter and we can get a piece off? I guess we'll test that tomorrow.
Its also very interested in pictures, especially selfies of itself. Usually its on the edge and cautious all the time, but when one of us takes out a phone it lets out a happy-like shriek, limping forward and looking through the glass with, what seems to be, excitement. Quite a sight. I wonder why it's so fascinated...
Its diet consists of insects and red meat which we send into the cell through an underground tube delivery system. The food then gets absorbed by the holes (one more reason why I believe that the holes substitute mouths). Thankfully it doesn't appear hungry when looking at us or I'd pis quit the second it gives off funny vibes.
Oh, Richards calling me. Probably a new discovery of something to do with it. We'll figure out a name for it eventually.
