Shields!


It may come as no surprise that I am a huge fan of Sonic The Hedgehog and after watching a playthrough of Sonic 2 I thought to myself, “that doesn’t look too hard to implement…”

Turns out I was right. Fifteen minutes of work later and I have working shields. Well, kind of. The way I’ve made Owen climb up ledges means he sort of climbs out of the boundary of the shield. It’s still mechanically functional but it looks a little odd.

Nothing I can’t fix with an if statement and a few more minutes of thought but it was a funny enough moment that I thought I’d share it.

Next up

I had so much fun making Letter Delivery, I've started doing a mockup about what a follow-up project would look like. One idea I've been floating around was a prequel where you play as Puppington (my favourite NPC)
