Should I just remake this game in Godot? Would it be a better option than Clickteam Fusion 2.5? I'm conflicted.

For those who don't know, I am remaking a series of four Scratch games in Clickteam and I have little programming experience. However, after years of working with Clickteam, I realize that its a pretty large mess (especially with all of those frames). Extensions are basically required to make a decent game and I feel like I am not learning anything with the event based editor. This is because that after TWO YEARS of working with Clickteam, my art and music skills have GREATLY improved (compare 2 years ago to now). However, I still just stick to using the same events and same presets. Also, ALL of the exports and better features are locked behind a paywall that you SHOULD get when you're paying for a $100 application. So, I have been thinking about finishing the demo in Clickteam Fusion 2.5 and then making the full game in Godot. This will NOT take as long as it did to make the games in Clickteam Fusion 2.5, I have all of the music, assets, and levels already made. The only thing I have to do is recode Ease 1 and 2 alongside a couple of the bonuses. This should not affect the release date too much, it might only delay it for a couple of months or so.

So, for all of you Godot and/or Clickteam users, would it be worth it to move a 2 year Clickteam project over to Godot? I feel like I would learn a lot more and have a lot more options available, but I don't know. Just in-case if it helps, the games are mostly platformers with one top-down game. I also do have a couple weeks of Godot experience, but not that much so far.

However, on the other side of the coin, this game is not that large and the expectations aren't that high. Also, I have a lot of the game already made in Clickteam Fusion 2.5.

(OH YEAH, ANOTHER BENEFIT OF GODOT. I CAN ACTUALLY PORT EASE 5 BECAUSE THATS 3D LOL)

UPDATE: Okay, I am heavily learning towards Godot now.

  1. I will actually learn how to the code

  2. Some Ease games can be remade in 3D

  3. Godot has VS and GDScript for new users

  4. There are a ton of sample games and tutorials

  5. I can give Ease games a 2.5D aesthetic instead of pixel art (Although I LOVE Pixel art)

TL;DR, Previous 2 years i've been working on porting 3 platformers and a top down dodging game in clickteam but I feel its a bit limited so i've been considering moving to godot.

Winston the Lizard concept (Yes, that's his name). This one is definitely going to be tweaked, I know it can be improved.

The Spider

This is a special #ScreenshotSaturday for Ease Collection because I just did a MASSIVE art overhaul, hoping to overhaul the music and bosses next. My pixel art skills are slowly improving, and hopefully I can improve this even further.

Since the Ease Collection DEMO is releasing on December 25th, I want to show off how much the grasslands level in Ease Collection actually improved over lifeless (beyond cursed) void of last year's grassland.
