this is a hypothetical but if this was an actual cannon Sonic game, it'd be an early version of Sonic Adventure, which is why there are so many (currently planned) characters in it that appear in that game and other games soon after/before it
(obviously with a couple new ones)
plus the game takes place around 1996-1999
