Hey all,
Hugh here again. Quick update on where the team is at. We’ve been hammering away at “Puff Saga” all day, and there’s been some great progress made. For starters, the main character, “Marsh”, has all his animations pretty much wrapped up, which is a big chunk of work out of the way. Kanae, our animator, also completed the art and animations for a couple enemies as well, and is currently wrapping up the final boss for the game. Exciting stuff!
Our level designer, Andrew Abedian, has laid out over half of the level we’re creating, and has assets ready to help implement the final touches. Tomorrow morning he should be wrapping up the entire layout so that we can begin the cram testing. XP
Both the story-side of things, and our audio for the game are in the final stages of development. As these are very important pieces of the puzzle, we’re quite lucky to have such amazing team members who’ve been able to quickly pump out this content for “Puff Saga”.
As it can sometimes be the case, the programming side of things is coming along slower than anticipated. Snags and road blocks have popped up here and there, but our programmer Mr. Julius Claudio is working his magic to alleviate any issues that arise. God bless his soul. ^^
Finally, as we’ve now entered the final day of the Game Jam and are nearing the submission deadline, we’ve had to make the tough decisions to cut certain aspects of the game that we originally wanted to showcase. Though this saddens most of our team members, cutting content to meet a deadline is part of the development process. If we continue to work on this game after the Jam (which we plan to), then we can always add in those extra “bells and whistles” that we originally desired for the game.
We can’t wait to see what everyone else has created for the Game Jam. Thanks for reading, and good luck to the other devs who are still awake at 3am like we are! :D
