Hey y'all, my trip is over and me and my family will be driving home today.
Because of that, I figured I could give a small update. I'm probably going to do one last surprise before the year is over tomorrow, but I figured that I might as well do this too.
Something that I've had in mind after Wario's is finished or at least close to finished is an update for Lament Legacy. This would not be a small one either, but rather, a complete overall of Legacy.
For as much positive reception that I got for Legacy, I'm going to be honest, a lot of the constructive criticism I got towards the game is valid. The game is horrendously overstuffed with mechanics and it's way too much to juggle in later nights.
Despite the fact that the game is very much possible to beat, I do not believe that I achieved my goal in making a game that's fun but challenging.
I will say that nothing is set in stone yet and that the update is not officially happening yet. My attention is completely on Wario's and some other projects of mine right now, so I won't be developing anything for this potential update until I have spare time.
Despite this, if an overhaul to Legacy were to happen, several things would be changed and built upon.
The main gameplay would be heavily altered, although not its fundamentals. Rather, several characters would be subtracted, leaving a lot more breathing room for the player.
I don't wish to spoil the plans I have in mind, but I will say that these gameplay changes would be centered on fixing the balancing yet keeping the variety in a way that won't overhaul the player.
Aside from that, I won't be sharing the plans I have for this potential update until it's actually in production, just know that I am interested in forming Legacy into a more complete game, something that can stand with Wario's as a fully fleshed out experience.
That's all I've got for now, the trip was great and I can't wait to come home. Expect that surprise sometime on New Years Eve, but other than that, take care y'all, and have a Happy New Year :)
