So I've finished watching the FNaF 2 movie, here are my thoughts:

[MASSIVE SPOILERS IN ARTICLE]

I wish I could call this movie "peak" or "absolute cinema", but I just don't think that's the right way to describe this movie.

My thoughts are really mixed. On one side, this movie was a lot crazier, bigger and there were fewer but better references. But on the other side, the puppet and Michael Afton were really not that good antagonists and the whole finale was a bit rough.

The Puppet being an antagonist in this movie is a pretty neat concept, but it isn't really executed well in the movie. Instead of blaming the murderer, she blames the parents, and for some reason she just hates every single parent she sees yet doesn't even seem to acknowledge William Afton which is the person who KILLED HER.

And Michael Afton...

Bro does absolutely nothing, he let's the Scooby-Doo gang rip-off into the pizzeria and just watches them die, and he's supposed to be the big bad of the movie. And he is just so comically evil for absolutely no reason. At the end of the movie he says he "added fuel to the fire", but mf how? You ain't done shit the whole movie I just forgot about you the moment you disappeared.

Speaking of the end of the movie, yeah, it was cool seeing the FNaF 1 animatronics kill the FNaF 2 animatronics, but it was less of a fight and more of the classics appearing out of nowhere and insta-killing the toys while everyone else did jackshit.

And OH MY FUCKING GOD THE ENDING. I feel like every 2nd installment to a series is a cliffhanger to the 3rd and nothing else, this one is no different. After Vanessa gets yelled at by Mike to stay away from them because she didn't tell them about anything (which is way above understandable) she just lets herself be possesed by the Puppet and the movie ends. I was like "that was it?" Throughout the whole credits scene.

Another fun thing, we didn't even get a glimpse at Springtrap until the post-credits scene. All William did in the movie was stab Charlotte a couple times, chase Vanessa in her nightmare and that was it. Yes, he had more screentime than in the first movie, but his appearences had way smaller impacts, I haven't seen or heard a single person (including me) even exhale air through their nose when bro appeared on screen, meanwhile in the first movie when William appeared in his costume everyone was cheering and clapping their hands, it might've been because the movie came out 2 days ago, but yeah.

Also, the way the Puppet can just posses random people is... Ehhhh... Especially since whenever she does that the person she's possesing straight up turns into generic modern horror movie monster number 178.

From what I've been saying it might seem that I hate this movie, but I actually had a fun time watching it. I'd say it was pretty good. It's just some specific parts (like the cliffhanger) were either disappointing or just bad.

But let's get to the actual good parts.

Obviously, the animatronics looked perfect (even if the withereds got the Vanny treatment). You can tell a ton of effort went into this movie.

The plot was also interesting, I liked how the toys were actually intimidating in the movie unlike the games. I really didn't think you could actually take these designs and make something geniuenly creepy out of it.

This movie was way crazier than the first. Like how Mike just straight up beheaded Balloon Boy and how Vanessa crashed into a random house that Toy Freddy was in while Mangle was on her car, those two were probably some of the best scenes in the whole movie. Also the "haur haur haur haur haur" meme being put in the movie in a way that doesn't feel super forced.

But yeah, those were my thoughts on the movie, I could keep talking about it but I feel like I yapped for way too long already. Anyways. 7/10. Bye.
