I think they're part Jack Russell and part Beagle. We don't know for sure.
Unfortunate news:
TL; DR Chicken is gone and Macaroni is in the process of healing. She'll be put up for adoption, hopefully soon. We want her safe.
Our little Macaroni lost her life from being hit by a truck. Rest easy, beautiful girl.
Died Thursday, October 3, 2024. Around 7:05 am.

Macaroni was never put up for adoption. Every no-kill shelter was full and there were the other shelters. They had deemed her untrainable. Had we sent her to a shelter, they would've put her down after 3 days. No one wanted her, so we kept her. She now rests in peace in our backyard.

OLD POST:
About a little more than a week ago, we lost Chicken. We don't know what happened to her. She's nowhere to be found. We don't know if someone or something took her. We've looked at every place where they take in stray dogs, but no luck. Also, no part of her was found anywhere.
Macaroni was heartbroken. The two have been inseparable for all this time. They've must've been abandoned and/or dumped from somewhere. Both have been by each other's side and love playing together. We do what we can to keep Macaroni in good spirits.
Macaroni is doing better. She's taking food from my hand now and is a bit more energetic, like before. She sleeps on our bench with cushions by our back window. Macaroni has been getting closer.
We won't trap her, due to her and her sister's trauma. They would NOT go anywhere near a trap. They didn't like the doghouse. Something must've happened to them, before they came to us.
Later on, we're thinking of putting her up for adoption, after we get her shots and cleaned up. Between the park and our house, it's miles of no-man's land. That means EVERY critter, big and small in this part of Texas, can enter our yard. As much as it pains us, we agreed that she'll be safer with a better family. I worry every night that something might happen to her. We have the lights on and she's closer to our home. The hardships of having a very shy stray dog, I'm afraid.
That and our cat doesn't like to share. Lol
