Really, need to make a different page for Stellar One news. What the hell was going on, you may ask? Well, that’s a little bit tricky! Since the last update of Stellar Zero there was like 2 months of silence or so, really didn’t count.
Generaly at the moment i didn’t even begun working on level design and story line, BUT! But.
I’m working really focused on the new engine, people requested better graphics - They will get them. My friend recently dedicated himself to learn and help me work with Stellar One, next month i will be buying a new computer and getting funding! That’s some awesome news for ya, now let’s jump right off to what’s new.
Pics are small, don’t blame me - The game has really huge resolutions to choose, also there’s now Anti Aliasing! There will be option to choose from AAx2, AAx4, AAx8. As you can see in the picture there’s really awesome sophisticated floor reflections in progress. The health bar and the score bar, in fact, has uses now. The bar where previously in Stellar One showed your score, now is a cooldown system! You can no longer run and shoot, sprinting is now limited, and on top of that the Machine Gun heats. If you shoot too much it will evenentualy stop and start cooling down. I’m working on ammunition instead of “Machine Gun” title, will post when it’s done.
So, right off to the next picture!
Yup, this is the same level from Stellar Zero! As told, i didn’t even begun working on story line, derp.
What can you tell from this picture? Shells ejecting, and a bubbly healthbar a little bit more in progress. The crosshair is also dynamic! You can no longer shoot without a care, the view also shakes instead of going up, so you really have to compensate how much bullets you spray, and take care of ammunition. The monsters now have a really nice bullet detection system. If you stand, the chances you will get killed are really high, if you walk, the bullets deal less damage as they “miss”, if you sprint, again, the chances are low - If you sprint and jump, well, i don’t know! Dem folks will probably have a hard time killing you. Of course, if you hit them at least once and start hiding, they will now search for you and try to find you!
There’s also a really awesome particle system here, you can see the bits of shards falling down -
From the right there’s a terminal console, in some of the maps you will have to have a keycard to open a door, so finding them will be a hassle. Or if you are a hardcore gamer, you will be able to use consoles to check health status, some news on interstellar living creatures, and for sure, hack dem doors.
Last but not least, OPTIMIZATION.
We all know Game Maker is not really efficient in 3D, i try to raise the limit; So it’s a little achievement to me!
Ain’t that awesome?
Make sure to keep track of progressment, more cool stuff is comming down the road soon! And yes, i can’t spoil all the cool stuff. There’s a lot of changes from Stellar Zero to Stellar One, just can’t show them all!
