Sonic Movie - Trailer Review
Alright… it’s about time I dove into this particular topic. Normally, I don’t usually do this… but I think it’s about time I tell you what I think of the trailer. [I’ll try not to rant about it as much… I want to be a bit more mature about this topic.]
When the trailer came out… the news spread like wildfire, so I had to go and watch the entire thing myself, and first impressions weren’t as good as I hoped. I cringed a little at Sonic’s Design, and I laughed at most of Eggman’s bits. And… wait— Sonic is an Alien? And Eggman works for the government??? [I thought the game’s established that they were rivals, with each trying to surpass each other? (As confirmed in the new Sonic Comics.)]
Well, whatever. It’s a movie with a high-budget (90 Million Dollars???), so I should expect this movie to at least be good. I heard it’s aimed for Families, and not just kids. [Usually, aiming for kids doesn’t lead to better results. Teen Titans GO is proof, along with any other cartoon reboot out there.]
Sonic’s Design is getting changed after the trailer recieved wide-spread negative feedback. But I see that as a good thing, despite there being tragic consequences if they try to rush it out, like how SEGA rushed out Sonic 06 at a deadline. (That was just ONE mistake, guys. You could at least forgive SEGA for trying not rushing out their content after Sonic 06.)
Overall… several days after the trailer’s release, I think it’s really good. It brought a lot of fans from the Early 90s back to their prime, just so they could see their favorite childhood icon again. (And I’m a late 90s boi.) They loved Sonic the Hedgehog growing up, and they always wondered what a movie would look like in theaters. And now, they can live to see those expectations play out as faithfully as possible. [This isn’t exactly the first Sonic Movie, though. There was a Sonic OVA that came out somewhere in the 90s, and brought to america as a two-parter.]
Welp… I guess that ends it for my review of the trailer. [I am pretty pooped after making this.] If you haven’t seen it yet, then please click the link below. If you have any questions for me, then please let me know by commenting me on this devlog. I’ll be sure to reply as soon as possible.
