he hit us so hard that our chainsaws and stuff like that flew out into the road and when he ran into us the rear glass busted out and flew into the cab of the truck which immediately hit me in the back of the head, and it sent us forward into the guy in front of us bumping him forward
and the radio and a/c vents in the front of our dashboard busted out at the same time
the radio is still good. i hope. it fell out but the wires are all still connected
anyway that guy in the front just has a cracked bumper, he was able to drive away
the guy in the back, his car is done for good
him and his two passengers, or at least the passengers, unsurprisingly seemed to be under the influence judging by the fact that one of them was vomiting, one of them was smoking, and those two also kept leaving the scene repeatedly to go to a store on the corner of the road where this happened and they kept buying drinks and chugging them
it was too dark so I don't know what they bought
I did notice in the rear dashcam video, as the guy is flying up behind us, our brake lights sort of illuminated the inside of his car and the passenger in the front has his face dead focused on the road. and the driver seems to have his head focused towards the road, but I noticed that there was a phone mount on the dashboard right next to the steering wheel. he easily could've took his eyes off of the road to look at the phone without turning his head. so, possible distraction there,
in the end of course the real guy at fault once again gets off the hook scot-free! the officer decided to take pity on him since it was his first car accident on record and he totaled his car. the situation was really just a big long mess that re-ruined our truck after we already fixed it from the last time. oh but our last situation was just a fender bender and that FHP officer decided to get all bent out of shape over it and cite my dad 4 points to his driving record with careless driving. and in any other situation, I guarantee that officer from yesterday wouldn't do that. its just our luck or something.
(edit, a few months after this post was originally made) upon the long process of medical stuff, I have 3 herniated discs in my neck.
my brother has 7 herniated discs in his neck, as well as cracked cartilage in his right knee.
my father has 5 herniated discs in his neck as well as a complete tear in his left shoulder tendon.
(end edit)
driver at fault in the rear car and his passengers were all fine
our truck is screwed up but we were able to drive it home after my brother cut the front bumper off (it was curled in from being pushed into hitting the guy in front of us)
so. now that we've had to reschedule our upcoming jobs, we have to fix this truck! again.
