Spooks, Importing Saves, Lights, and Vases


Hello wonderful people, I’ve returned with more news from the work-in-progress Alpha build. I’m extremely happy to say that there are now (wait for it) more spooks! As if random jumpscares and rocks that feel like killing you wasn’t already horrifying enough, most scares now have a little added entropy. For example, the static scare in the hallway now has a 5/6 chance of occuring at a random spot in the hall. So yes, 1/6 times you won’t get scared. 5/6 times you will get scared at some random point. Is this a fail at adding replay value? No, I just wanted things to get spookier.

In non-spooky news (but still horrifying) your saves from the Proof of Concept release will not carry over into the Alpha. The Alpha processes maps more efficently and maps have been reorder in the encryption. Sorry!

Also for those of you complaining about the extreme darkness of the game, there are now some lights in the enviroment. I can guarantee that these lights won’t stop you, turn you to stone, they shine when they’re alone, and you may dream when they’re gone. (Oh god that was the worst reference ever.) Then again, what’s the point of spooks if you can’t see them?

To finish off this little update I believe all the completionist are happy to know you may now check your rose petal count from the brand spanking new inventory screen. Of course, you all know what comes with inventory screens… COMPLICATED PUZZLES! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy— no.

Let me introduce you to the new Mech line: Gendai Spec. Those are Mech that specializes in surprise attacks, covered operations, and stealth. They are equipped with melee weapons but one of Gendai's frames supports sniper rifles.
