Here’s the first prototype -

If you’re interested in knowing how it works, it’s just a couple’a triangles.

nothing really special going on at all. The heart of the operation is in this little line.

Basically, some random numbers choose how this line is plotted. It’s then mirrored and ‘colored in’.

What I’d really like though, is to be able to distinguish different makes. Then you could see at a glance which cars are worth salvaging when you’re surveying the scrapyard. Just like you can in real life. Limiting the parameters of those numbers, can create noticeable similarities. For example, making wheels smaller.

or making wing mirrors a hazard to everyone else on the road

or even multiplying the body size by 5 times, subsequently generating cars resembling giant cocks.

I’m wondering if it would be useful to have a bodyshop ingame, maybe miles and miles out into the wilderness, where eventually, you’d be able to design your own shape, rather than being limited by what you can find.

I’d love to hear your thoughts by the way, don’t just let me ramble on.

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.
