Here's some stuff I wrote for a major element of Fluffy Nights' story.
This is Staralis, Staralis is a dream world outside reality that appears throughout the Fluffy Nights series. It's where all the non-animatronic creatures come from. It's characterized as a series of large floating islands in a constant night with an aurora. The islands are comprised of forests with sparkling flowers and caves underneath. Staralis becomes darker the further down you go, the inhabitants are peaceful and playful in the light areas but dangerous and aggressive the deeper you go. An example is Eifis which I showed before who is one of the critters from the light layer and the Fernimic which is the creature I showed in the series cover being from the dark layer.
Staralis' existence in Earth is influenced by positive energy created from memories and feelings. At first people may dream of being on Staralis as it starts to seep into the world. After enough of this energy is accumulated in one place, creatures from Staralis may appear near the area usually ones from the light layer however there is a chance some critters from the dark layer may find their way through as well.
Fluffy Nights 1 would be the prologue to Staralis' slowly etching it's way into Earth. Starting with a random American entertainment establishment named Fluffer's Floofarium which was still a work in progress at the time
By Fluffy Nights 2, Staralis has spread enough for various creatures to have appeared. They are lured to the protagonist's house from his/her memories of their moments at Fluffer's.
As Staralis continues to spread, the dark layer critters start to notice and take this opportunity to make a mark of their own on the world, initially hinted at by odd transmissions picked up by a radio station in the woods of Staralis' atmosphere in Fluffy Nights 4. Jake survives against these critters as they approach the station and try to kill him.
I haven't written much related to Fluffy Nights 3. Staralis probably has a more minor appearance in 3 since that installment is more focused on technology and animatronics are more center stage again.
