Status Report

Hello again, everyone! I'm back, and I've got a quick update post for you all. i have split this post up into a few parts, so here's a table of contents to better navigate it.

1. Say Hello!
2. Progress Update

Say Hello!

Last time, you all got the chance to meet a certain someone, but you never got his name. This time you'll get the chance to say hello to him.

Meet Primetime Freddy, an old friend who's been waiting to say hello after a very long time.

Like all good friends, he's come to see you after years of waiting in the darkness. Let's just say he's more then eager.

Next up is a new companion that will be joining you throughout your repair session, the one you'll be working on fixing up throughout the entirety of the game.

Meet Sunshine Freddy! A fun, peppy guy who just loves to play with new friends!

Unfortunately, Sunshine Freddy's in need of some help, and you're the right person to fix him up! Be careful though, he can get a little rowdy at times./

And finally, the last character is a little different from the rest. They are a bit cruder compared to rest of the cast, but always love dropping by.

Meet the Chimera, a broken mishmash of the originaL Bonnie and Chica aniMatronics, put back together with parts to spare.

The ventilation above you is where the crawl, and the watch, waiting for your every move. Maybe they'll come down to hang out. you understand, don't you?

Progress Update

Finally, I am so sorry for the wait. I've just been busy in both real life and while working on this game. Last time I made a substantial post on this game page 5 months ago, so I am here to break the silence. This time I have much to share!

From an asset standpoint, all of the models and environmental work for the game is done! It's actually been done for sometime, the real work is actually working on the animation and rendering.

See, that's the hard part, despite this game being quite small, it has very animated segments of it that really help elevate the tension. Not only that, but there are also brief character reveal cutscenes that reveal the a new character when it's revealed. This is due to the fact that the addition of every new character impacts the game significantly, and causes a shift in the meta.

Now, actually doing this animation work isn't that bad, just very labor intensive. For context, I am the ONLY animator for this game since I want everything to look exactly the way I want it to look, that and so I can obtain more experience and improve. That, and I'd rather not wait to have someone do animation work for me, as doing it myself is just a lot easier.

The downside to me being the only animator is that things go by a bit slower, but that's okay because I am very consistent at getting work done. It also means that since I am my sole motivator not only for animation, but also just getting people on my team to work, that I am constantly working on managing multiple different aspects of the game. The REALLY bad thing about doing this all on my own is the fact that I am also the only renderer for this game. Because of that, and the fact that this game's cutscenes are very detailed, it can take sometime to render out anything super long. Hopefully all that helps gives more clarification as to what's been going on.

With that all discussed, here is a brief on progress when it comes to the overall state of the game!

Models - 100%
Animation - 45%
Coding - 0%
Misc. Graphics - 0%
UI - 0%
SFX - 0%

(Of note is that all VAs needed for the game have been acquired)

Remember, this will all be worked on in time, I know this game can release this year, maybe even before the end of May.

Anyways, that should cover the entirety of what I wanted to discuss in this post.

I am hoping that the next update post I will do will feature some gameplay as well, but we'll see what's in store.

; )

See you all on the flip, and enjoy the New Year!

Major Update

Work, work, work!

Happy #WIPWednesday!

Are you working on a game?

Making some art?

Practicing a song?

Something else?

Tell us in the comments!

Forgot to mention this but yesterday was apparently both Scott Cawthon's birthday and Mr. Krinkel's (the Creator of Madness Combat) birthday. Cool to know two of my favorite creators have the same birthday!
