Stay 3D or go 2d?

Hello everyone:) So, I am kind of at a crossroad, the game as it stands, I am running in to a lot of problems, also I am not very familiar with 3d development. So I was thinking of transforming the game into a 2d-sidescroller. This would solve a lot of the problems, and I am more experienced with 2d development, and I think it would be more original and fun to play! So tell me what you think of this idea:D
