Previously…

As they went to sleep both the bros stood up a little bit before both of them decided to sleep…both of them happy…surely nothing can ruin this…right..?

And now…the continuation of chapter 13: “Bloodbath”

As time passed…Luigi’s detector went off sensing danger is near. This causes everyone to wake up but they looked confused of why Luigi looked so paranoid and frightened…he didn’t move. But he only said one word..’run’. At first they didn’t listen. But when Mario looked up he too was scared and horrified. He ran off and picked up Jr. Bowser and Kamek followed Mario, and Luigi bolted out the room following them as well. Then out of nowhere a humongous Chain Chomp abomination gave chase to them. It was too huge to even fend off. They had no choice but to hide. Luigi hid before he became dinner…the same with Bowser and Kamek, Mario wasn’t so lucky..he kept on running and running til he found a ladder to climb on, he tossed Jr onto the ladder first then jumped to follow. Mario sighed relieved.

Mario: *uff* *uff* “Mama mia…first that plant…n-now a Chain Chomp..? Can this get any worse?…” *He asked as he tries to catch his breath*

Jr: “I-I’m scared…I want dad….” *He said in a shaken voice*

Mario: *He sighed* “I know but…we should stay here until it goes away…” *He said tiredly*

Jr: “O…Okay….” *He replied with nothing else to say*

As the Chain Chomp attempted to reach them by jumping causing both Mario and Jr to lose balance, Jr couldn’t keep his balance and fell off nearly meeting his end…before he did Mario jumped off the ladder and caught him landing on the Chain Chomp’s head then started to flee. Upon fleeing however Mario sees all kinds of monsters attacking Luigi, Bowser, and Kamek. Jr hopped outta Mario’s arms and went to fight them off alongside with Bowser. Mario used all his momentum to burn off some of the enemies that were weaker although taking quite a beating, but managed to get rid of them. Luigi was thrown to the wall with his robotic eye being torn out and mostly damaged. He manages to keep standing and fight them off despite his injuries. While both Bowser and Jr fought them off they weren’t truly unharmed. Kamek doing his best to fend them off remaining unharmed. All was going well…except for Luigi. He letted out a blood curdling scream from having his left arm almost torn apart completely. Mario sees this and tried to assist him but can’t do anything about it. With Mario distracted a deformed Koopa Troopa and 2 Paratroopas attacks Mario from behind and the Koopa sped towards Mario’s stomach causing him to cough out blood and went flying to a wall far from Luigi. Luigi screamed his name and rushed over to him trying to see if he was alive or conscious. Tears built up in his eye as he looks at Mario with blood dripping from his head…nose…even his mouth…deep cuts and wounds..but Luigi hears a faint ‘ba-thump’ ‘ba-thump’. It was Mario’s heart beat! Luigi was relieved but worried as hell. Kamek came over and trying to help him.

Kamek: *uff* *uff* “I’ll…take him with me…come..we must flee..I’ll try to do something about your arm..” *He insisted*

Luigi: *He couldn’t stop crying* “O…..O….Okay…..H-How’s B-Bowser…?” *He asked traumatized and Fearfully*

Kamek: “They took care of them…I believe they are okay…now let’s get out before more of them come.” *He said tiredly*

Luigi: “Okay…” *He said disappointedly while grabbing his arm that was torn off*

As they walked injured but alive…Bowser noticed somebody’s following them…he looked angry and ready to beat them up. Before he could he noticed a figure in a lab coat…the same one who tortured Mario. Bowser’s expression darkened and more pissed just by looking at them. The figure laughed by their struggles.

“???”: “Still alive?…This is fantastic…your struggles are just so satisfying to watch…seeing a beloved one being hurt..such a pity…it’s also a pity someone got so hurt…my my…I spent hours on your body Luigi…I could fix you.” *He mocked Bowser while looking at Luigi laughing a bit*

Luigi: “You…nn- a-ah…-! *He kneels on the ground still bleeding with deep scars on his chest and his head is a little bloody* o-oh…g-go…d….it hurts….” *He whined*

“???”: “Such a pity…look at yourself…struggling…in pain…worthless…it’s satisfying to watch…heheh…of course it’s even more satisfying to see your brother slowly die in front of your eyes. Heartbreaking isn’t it?..” *He said in a sinister voice*

Luigi snapped and attacked with is metal arm. Even with his arm missing he easily got thrown away leaving more injuries. He started to cough violently. Bowser looked angry then looked away picking up Jr and Luigi.

“???”: “Pitiful. Oh well…can’t be helped now~. I can’t wait to watch you suffer…good luck…you’ll need it..” *He said as he walked away leaving them alone*

Bowser had nothing to say but looked at Luigi and Jr. Luigi hardly moving…but still awake. Jr is scared hugging his arm. Kamek is checking if Mario would wake up. Mario is unconscious…but still breathing. They’ve decided to lay low for a while. Bowser sets Luigi next to Mario while Kamek is trying to sue his arm back on while healing it. Luigi looks at Mario upset. Bowser looks at Luigi with disappointment.

Bowser: *He sighed* “Look…I know your worried but look at yourself…you could’ve ended up like him. Just…rest up…” *He said tiredly*

Luigi: “I…I just….want to…protect him at all costs….I failed to do so….I’m such a fool…” *He said disappointed in himself*

Jr: *He crawls onto his lap looking at Luigi hugging him* “You might be a fool…but your always there for him…aren’t you..?” *He asked with worry*

Luigi: “I…yeah….but…what more can I do..?” *He questioned*

Jr: “Well…— *He interrupted himself looking at Mario…standing?* uhh…why is he standing?…” *He asked confusingly*

Luigi: “HUH?!” *He swiftly turned his head*

Bowser: “Wait what?” *He said confusingly*

Kamek: “EH?!” *He too looked confused yet curious*

Mario stood up covering himself with a cloak not noticing the others are in shock. Bowser approaches Mario and places his hand on his shoulder. Mario noticed then turned around looking unbothered.

Bowser: “How…are you standing…? You were unconscious for…well god knows how long…” *He asked confusingly*

Mario: “…mm..” *He reveals the wings on his back like before but they seem a bit in the mid-grown stage…although he still have a devil tail, baby horns, and fangs. He covers himself once more refusing to show his head.*

Bowser: “Huh…that’s…interesting….can you fly?…” *He asked in a bit of surprise*

Mario: “…I…don’t know…I never had wings…” *He answered unsurely*

Kamek: “Well…do you know how you are…well…awake and standing?…” *He asked while fixing up Luigi whose asleep*

Mario: “Not…sure..? But…I felt…a hand…on my head…I can’t tell if I’m dead or not…I can’t tell what is happening with me…” *He answered unsure what happened*

Kamek: “Hmm…you might be a ‘star child’ full of hope…courage..bravery….etc….something is preventing your death…but what….” *He said thinking to himself*

Mario: “You must know more than I do huh…?” *He asked confusingly*

Kamek: “Possibly…you should rest…your brother will get worried…” *He suggested*

Mario: “Alrighty…” *He replied as he lies down next Luigi*

[30 minutes later]

Mario woke up to the sounds of footsteps and went to investigate without making a sound to wake anyone…upon investigation he stumbled across the figure who was approaching him. Mario looked mad..but also a bit uncomfortable. He sighed and greeted him.

Mario: “Uhm….h-hello again…been sometime since I’ve seen you…” *He said kinda nervously*

“???”: “I see your doing well again…care to follow me?…I promise you I won’t do anything harsh…it was a misunderstanding…technology can get outta hand…haha…” *He asked while talking to him*

Mario: “Um…I…I…..I don’t know…will it hurt?…” *He asked unsurely backing up a bit*

“???”: “Huh-? Oh..n-no no no! Not at all..! I promise..it’s painless..you do trust me no?….” *He asked holding his hand out*

Mario: “I….I guess…I’m sorry I’ve been just…p-paranoid..I don’t know what’s real anymore….” *He said tearing up a bit*

“???”: “Hey…hey…your okay….come…I’ll fix you up…I can even fix your body..what do you say…?” *He asked while holding Mario’s hands gently*

Mario: “…I…okay…but….c-can you promise me not to harm them…? Please?…” *He asked feeling a bit worried*

“???”: “You have my word….let’s go…” *He said while holding his hand*

Mario: “O-okie…” *He nervously replied*

[About 2 hours later]

As Mario and the figure walked to the location, the unknown figure helped Mario setting things into motion. Mario looked scared but he managed to calm himself. He looked around and the machine turned on. The figure approached him with a smile but Mario is unsure if he’s happy…so he smiled a bit still nervous. He starts the machine and it forced Mario to drink suspicious liquid, he took his time swallowing it. He didn’t try to scream and seems to…enjoy it? The figure amps the speed of the machine a little faster. Unbothered Mario kept swallowing the amount given. The figure asked Mario if he enjoys it so far. He nod his head ‘yes’. He deactivated the machine for a moment to talk to him.

“???”: “So…what does it taste like?…Sorry if the machine is too much for you..” *He asked while apologizing*

Mario: *panting* “Taste…like…candy!…It’s weird how it taste like this…I thought it was normal water…” *He answered sounding a little confused*

“???”: “Hm….I’m glad you like it…you might have to keep drinking it in order to get rid of these effects on you…” *He suggested in a odd tone*

Mario: “Oh?…Well…I…I guess I can…stay for a bit..? But…can you untie me..? My back hurts…” *He asked feeling small bits of pain*

“???”: “Oh. Right. Sorry…” *He unties him and helps him up*

Mario: “It’s okay…may…I stand for this?…I don’t wanna hurt my back…especially these…wings…they’re fragile…” *He asked politely*

“???”: “Of course. Let the test resume..I’ll check on you later..” *He said as the machine starts up again inserting more of the suspicious liquid in Mario’s mouth*

Mario: *He gave them a thumbs up as “Okay” as he continued to drink the liquid*

[Meanwhile with Luigi and the others]

Kamek: “How odd…I wonder where he gone to…” *He said to himself*

Bowser: “Maybe he went ahead of us?…” *He shrugged*

Luigi: *Yawns* “That’s…impossible….he couldn’t had walked for THAT long…” *He said with concern*

Kamek: “You might be right…something is off…” *He said worryingly*

Bowser: “Should we find hi— *He interrupted himself* wait…WHERE’S JR?!” *He said in a panicked tone*

Luigi: “Wh- MAMA MIA WHERE’D HE GO?!” *He frantically said looking for him*

Kamek: “Wait Luigi— *He cut himself off looking annoyed* aaand he’s gone…” *He sighed with annoyance as he followed Luigi and Bowser*

[Back to Mario]

It’s nearly been an hour since he’s been there. The figure came and turned the machine off and helps Mario stand up. Mario was too dizzy to walk on his own so, the figure helped him walk to a testing tube so he could regain consciousness. Mario looked at him completely zoned out and his eyes looked hollow. The figure injected something to prevent him from passing out.

“???”: “Heh…You loved it huh?…” *He asked kinda surprised*

Mario: *He nod his head “yes”*

“???”: “Do you want more? Your stomach will stay the same if your worried about something…” *He asked while talking to him*

Mario: *He nod his head “yes” while smiling a little bit*

“???”: “Heh..okay..” *He activated the machine to dowse the liquid into his body once more*

Mario: *He starts to drink it again from the machine but felt a bit sick and stopped*

“???”: “Huh?— oh damn I forgot!..” *He yelled in a panic releasing Mario and catching him and stopping the machine*

Mario: *He vomits out the liquid and something else leaves his mouth but ended choking. He manages to cough it out whatever it was* “U-Ughhh…..”

“???”: *He pats his back causing something to come out* “…?”

Mario: *BLEHHH* “uff…..ufff……….my head…..feels…..better….?” *He said in confusion*

“???”: “Oh?..let me see…” *He demanded*

Mario took off the hood revealing his head and the figure sees no baby horns on his head. He looked surprised.

“???”: “Whoa…so it worked….” *He said in shock*

Mario: “I-It did?…I-is there a mirror?…I-I wanna see…” *He asked in a bit of surprise*

“???”: *He grabs the nearest thing that looks like a mirror and hands it to Mario*

Mario: *He looks at his reflection seeing no horns looking shocked but relieved in a way* “…Th…Thank you…my head been hurting for a bit….” *He thanked in a calm voice*

“???”: “Heh…your welcome….” *He replied*

Mario: *He gave him a hug feeling more comfortable* “I…guess your not a bad person after all..” *He said in a relaxed tone*

“???”: “Uh— *He hugged him back* heh…your too nice Mario..I am trying my best…” *He said silently*

Mario: “Mm….sleepy…” *He mumbled tiredly*

“???”: *He picks up Mario and carries him to an empty bed putting the blankets on him* “Sleep well Mario…” *He said as he walks away*

[Meanwhile with the others]

The trio finally found Jr and took him back to their location. Luigi nearly passed out but managed to stand up. Bowser looks completely exhausted and sat down before he fell down. Kamek places Jr down with Luigi. Luigi was too tired to move…or cry…his head was too light and passed out. Bowser was already asleep…except for Kamek…

Kamek: “I hope he’s okay…I must rest as well…” *He said to himself*

Kamek laid down next to Bowser reading something before he passed out too. He got too tired to stay awake…so he went to sleep.

As they rest…Mario isn’t in the group will he come back safely?…or stay far from them..?
