Sunny’s Burgers and Fries: [PRELUDE]

2009

The year is 2009. A man named Thomas [19 yrs] has an idea. He always liked the idea of Candy’s Burgers and Fries, and Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, and he wanted to make something just as special.  He created rough blueprints for some older animatronics, Dexter and Lucas. Both of these characters were bunnies, and both of them had a neat gimmick. This gimmick was: they were made of porcelain plates that could open, retract, rotate, and adjust. Since these were just prototypes, he added this feature to have easy maintenance on the animatronics.

2011

While working on perfecting these 2 prototypes, he had to reach inside Lucas’ mouth to remove his battery. While he did this, a joint snapped in Lucas’ upper jaw mechanism, causing it to slam down on Thomas’ hand. This caused minor bleeding for Thomas, but he still was annoyed. He taped up Lucas’ mouth so that that’d never happen again, and then decided it was time to stop with the prototyping. He made rough sketches for 3 brand new characters, and this time they wouldn’t just be prototypes. These animatronics had removable suit pieces instead of opening plates, meaning it would be just as easy for maintenance but it would also be cheaper and look more approachable and friendly. These characters were named Sunny, Bonnabee, and Benny.

Sunny had the “strong leader” personality, and Benny was his brother. Bonnabee was supposedly unrelated, yet still a part of the band. 

2013

In 2013, during a once-a-week emergency maintenance check in, a roughly 20 year old employee stuck his hand into the Sunny animatronics mouth to lever open the face piece from sunny’s endoskeleton. Unfortunately, he managed to pull a spring out of its place, causing the second maintenance bite. This employee suffered major bleeding, due to not just a bite but also his arm being slammed and dragged across the sharp metal pieces. He was hospitalized, but later died of blood loss. Roughly 2 days later, at night, a security guard worked as normal until he noticed something. Sunny had started moving off of his stage. The nightguard noticed this and immediately reported this to Thomas. Thomas at first ignored it. He ignored it for a long, long time. About 2 months later, he announced he was taking the animatronics off stage.

2014

Thomas laughed to himself. Loud, vivid laughing, before he came to a straight silence.

“Wow… Such a brilliant, obvious, scientific realization! He laughed some more. Now, of course, I can't let my guests be disappointed! he said almost sarcastically to himself. Let's see if this is a force to be reckoned with.” So he hired a mechanic to tear apart the old animatronics, and put their parts to use for a NEW animatronic. Not only did he have Sunny, Benny, and Bonnabee rebuilt, he also made  a few new mascots. Topaz, a thin, white figure with a black mask, held to the ceiling with a puppetting handle, Jester, a purple fox-like animatronic who would sell plushies at the prize  corner, Dusti, a “dust bunny” character. The idea was that dust was associated with cobwebs and spiders and dirt, hence why Dusti was given a set of FOUR legs instead of just 2.  These new characters would become iconic mascots for Sunny’s, until the Incident occured. The incident was when Thomas built a machine too powerful for his own good. 

The L.E.a.C.H

The LEaCH [Life Extraction and Computer Hardware] device was designed  to do one thing. To take a human mind and put it into a complicated computer. The kind of computer that would take the sacrifice of the greatest minds’ sanity to build. Thomas’ sanity. Thomas had had a PHD in computer science and robotics engineering for years, so this was simple to him. The machine was built of 2 large beams, a few moving hinges, a large amount of sliding components, a claw, and of course, 4 tubes with needles at the end, all moving when commanded to. The device was brilliant, but of course he needed a test subject.

The Incident

Once Thomas had finished the basic design for the LEaCH, he pulled Sunny off stage the same night. 

The next day, A younger customer [roughly 9] asked where Sunny was. Thomas replied, a sinister grin on his face. “Follow me, i know where he is.” 

Thomas lead the innocent child into the room with the LEaCH. Thomas slammed the child over the head with a blunt object, causing him to go unconscious.

Thomas put the child in the machine. A second of mechanical whirring occured, before the machine levered the child in half. The 4 mechanical arms burrowed into the opening made by the machine. 

New Life

The machine collected every piece of data it could from the brain. It took all of it. It put the data into the brand new body. This body was the Benny animatronic. Thomas felt amazing about what he’d done. He WAS amazing. He propped the animatronic on a workbench, and administered a controlled shock. This shock made the animatronic slowly activate. When it activated, Thomas started doing multiple tests on the state of its consciousness. He then recorded this session on a document.

Subject 1 [Benny] age 9, testing general conscious ability.

Q: What do you remember?

A: My name is… Benny.

Q: Do you know what you are?

A: I am… a child. But.. no.. i’m Benny… But…. I dont know.

Q: Do you remember anything before this?

A: Yes. Yes. Yes. Ye-*subject started spewing out sparks and smoking. Note to self: do not ask about memories.

Experimentation and Brilliance

Thomas had made life. He had made consciousness. He had made science into something much more important. He had played god. By now, the year was late 2017, December 27th. After spending some time relaxing over Christmas, he decided it was time to go back to work. He lured a few more kids back, with all the same excuses and promises. He did the same thing. Over and over, like a sick, insane routine. Once every animatronic had been given true life, he made promises to each. Promises, rewards, ect. He said he could give them back their family. He said he could make them feel happy. He said he could give them a special show of their own, centered just around them. Until, he had every single one under his command.

They listened to him. Later that day, he got an application from a nightguard. A perfect candidate. A  perfect test subject. You.
