he was king, went thru the divorce, got really depressed and became a drunkard before being expelled from the throne. He’s mostly a loner now, working as a janitor in the castle
The chipped horn was the result of a Bar Fight, which proved to be the last time anyone messed with Asgore (take that as you will)
