Hello everyone. sorry for the lack of updates. I just wanted to let you all know what's going on with BendyBound.
first things first. development I going to be a bit slower. this I because I am working on another game at the moment. if you've been keeping up with my game jolt. you should know that I am remaking my old bendy mod TDDHS with @KalGeeksOut
. I've been having a lot of fun working on the mod and with Kal themselves. however. that meant work on this game has slowed down drastically. I'm still working on it, don't worry. but it's not my main focuses at the moment.
secondly. the henry sections of the game are getting a complete overhale story wise. you may already know that I had finished writing the script for the last act of henry's section. and you may know that i also rewrote it as well. the thing is was that I just wasn't happy with the story. it wasn't funny and just didn't make sense at all.
you see. the main inspiration for this game was Dayshift at Freddy's by @DirectDogman
. DSAF's is my favourite fan game sires of all time. the DSAF's games each change and evolve with each game. the first game was all silly. the second was mostly silly with sincerer and serious bits sprinkled in. while the final game was mostly sincerer and serious with silly stuff not being as prevalent. (go play the DSAF games if you don't know what I'm talking about.)
I wanted to do the same thing with my game. the first act being the silliest, the last act being the most serious, and the second being in between. however, I found it very hard to make the serious bits feel natural (or even good for that matter) and it was really stressing me out.
so today. I decided I wasn't going to try being serious anymore. I was going in full comedy. there still might be some sincere bits here and there. but it's going to be a comedy through and through. and if you noticed. the picture I drew had Sammy in it. originally, i wasn't going to have anyone like Sammy in the game. but I'm now reworking/rewriting the story of the game. it's going to be more inline with the original BATIM than fully do it's own thing.
I'm sorry if this disappoints you, but I believe theses dictions I made will make the game even better. I am currently rewriting the scrip and it's almost finished. (let's just hope I don't rewrite it again, ay?)
thank you everyone who supported me with this project of mine. it is without a doubt, the biggest project I ever worked on. and all the support means the world to me.
best regards
Oscar James
