Hello everyone, Robin here!
As some of you may know, Scott recently announced that he will retire from the Five Nights at Freddy's series.
Hearing this was a big shock, but sometimes, decisions like this may be the best, and I'm completely behind his choice.
I just want to say, thanks to Scott, I would never stand where I am right now nor be a 3D modeler.
I'm so thankful to Scott because not is he a big inspiration, but throughout my journey as a developer, I met a lot of amazing people.
Amazing people that have the same interests as I do, amazing artists, developers, but most of all, amazing friends!
There are so many talented people in this community!
One of those friends became one of my closest friends, and in the end, we actually met each other in real life!
And that is @JayferGames.
It's crazy to think about it, if Five Nights at Freddy's was never a thing, I wouldn't meet him nor having an awesome friend right now.
Did I ever mention the story? Well, now I will.
So, back when I started creating my own fangames was back in 2015 on Scratch. (I was 15 back then.)
One of my first games was "One Night at Pizza Plaza" and "A Child's Nightmare".
Suddenly, I found Jay's Scratch account and I was such a huge fan of his art style!
He also made a fangame, based on One Night at Flumpty's called "One Night at Boy Blam"!
So, I contacted him and started talking with him. After a while, we added each other on Skype, and talked about games, drawings, and more!
One day, after 6 months of calling almost every day, my mom called me, telling me that we had dinner and that I need to go downstairs. She told this to me in Dutch.
As I tried to explain to Jay what my mom said, he suddenly responds; "Wait, you speak Dutch? I also speak a bit of Dutch!"
We both laughed and we're confused that we never noticed that we both spoke the same language.
After a while, Jay visited me in Belgium, spend a week at my house. We even made our own game together called "One Haunted Night REMASTERED"!
Almost 5 years later, and 2 visits later, Jay and I are still really good friends and I can't wait to meet each other again!
(Old photo, this was back in 2018)
So again, I would never know @JayferGames and have such a good friend if Five Nights at Freddy's was never a thing.
Scott, you're amazing, you showed me that even sitting all day, teaching yourself something, and have a lot of creativity can take you everywhere!
If there is one Idol I have, then that's you, stay well.
Thank you!
