So, as I was kind of crazy the last time I tried writing a news article about Reach I’m going to keep this one more to the point. I’ll be describing all the controls, what they do and why.
Left Mouse: Detects a body to grab onto along the line between the mouse cursor and the left hand. If it finds one Billy Blob will grab reach for this point with his left hand.
Right Mouse: Does the same thing as the Left Mouse button for the right hand.
Middle Mouse: This releases both hand holds instantly. It can be used for easily dropping. This is a more advanced feature as it can very easily get you killed.
Ctrl + Left Mouse: Releases the Left hand hold. This is useful if you are carrying an object in your hand and want to let it go without having to grab something else. It can also serve as a means to create momentum.
Ctrl + Right Mouse: Releases the Right hand hold. This is useful if you are carrying an object in your hand and want to let it go without having to grab something else. It can also serve as a means to create momentum.
Reach is all about moving around the levels effectively and with as much control as possible. These controls allow you a deep level of control while also requiring a fair amount of skill to use them. Think Octodad meets platforming puzzle game. Using these controls to their best ability can make winning levels easy. But failing to use them right can and will make you go splat and quickly stall your evolution from the simple goo you once were.
