Entity Danger Classification System (EDCS)
All entities contained within the facility are assessed and categorized based on multiple danger factors. Each factor contributes to an overall Threat Designation, which determines the containment procedures and personnel clearance required for interaction.
Primary Danger Factors:
Containment Integrity (CI) - How difficult it is to contain the entity
CI-1 (Stable): Requires minimal security; standard locks and monitoring suffice.
CI-2 (Unstable): Occasional breaches or anomalous behavior requiring reinforced containment.
CI-3 (Compromised): Frequently attempts escape; requires adaptive containment strategies.
CI-4 (Breach-Prone): High-risk entity; breach likelihood is significant without extreme measures.
CI-5 (Uncontainable): Entity defies standard containment methods and can only be mitigated or observed.
Aggression and Hostility Index (AHI) - How dangerous the entity is when provoked or unprovoked
AHI-1 (Docile): No aggressive tendencies, even when threatened.
AHI-2 (Reactive): Will attack if provoked or perceives a threat.
AHI-3 (Predatory): Actively seeks out targets but can be deterred.
AHI-4 (Relentless): Engages and pursues targets with no clear deterrence.
AHI-5 (Apex Threat): Unstoppable hostility, capable of mass casualties or destruction.
Cognitive Influence Factor (CIF) - Effects on mental state and perception
CIF-1 (None): No effect on cognition or perception.
CIF-2 (Mild Influence): Slightly alters thoughts, emotions, or memory.
CIF-3 (Moderate Manipulation): Can induce hallucinations, paranoia, or control weak minds.
CIF-4 (Severe Influence): Capable of full mind control, memory erasure, or forced compliance.
CIF-5 (Total Subjugation): Absolute control over individuals or groups; psychological exposure is lethal.
Biological Hazard Rating (BHR) - Potential for physical harm through infection, mutation, or toxicity
BHR-1 (Non-Hazardous): No biological threats present.
BHR-2 (Irritant): Causes mild reactions (rashes, dizziness, minor sickness).
BHR-3 (Infectious/Maladaptive): Causes severe disease, mutations, or permanent damage.
BHR-4 (Fatal Contact): Direct or indirect exposure results in rapid or unavoidable death.
BHR-5 (Extinction-Class): Capable of global-level biological catastrophe.
Reality Distortion Level (RDL) - Ability to alter laws of physics, time, or existence
RDL-1 (None): Operates under normal physics and reality.
RDL-2 (Localized Anomaly): Minor changes in a limited radius (temperature shifts, levitation).
RDL-3 (Dimensional Manipulation): Capable of bending space, physics, or minor timeline alterations.
RDL-4 (Macro-Reality Distortion): Can rewrite laws of reality over large areas.
RDL-5 (Universal Overwrite): Entity possesses god-like reality-altering power.
Sentience and Intelligence Level (SIL) - Level of awareness and strategic ability
SIL-1 (Non-Sentient): Operates on instinct alone, no signs of intelligence.
SIL-2 (Basic Awareness): Reacts to stimuli, capable of learning patterns.
SIL-3 (Sapient Intelligence): Demonstrates logical thinking, problem-solving, and limited strategy.
SIL-4 (Advanced Manipulation): Capable of deception, long-term strategy, and adaptive intelligence.
SIL-5 (Hyper-Sentient): Knowledge surpasses human comprehension; possible omniscience.
Environmental Hazard Classification (EHC) - Effects on the surrounding environment
EHC-1 (Harmless): No environmental impact.
EHC-2 (Localized Disturbance): Causes mild atmospheric changes or minor electrical interference.
EHC-3 (Hazardous Zone): Alters the physical environment, creating hazardous terrain or atmospheric conditions.
EHC-4 (Hostile Terrain Formation): Reshapes entire regions, making them uninhabitable.
EHC-5 (Apocalyptic Transformation): Capable of reshaping entire ecosystems or planetary structures.
Final Threat Designations
Entities are assigned an overall classification based on a combination of the above danger factors. The most extreme ratings in any category dictate the final designation.
Tier 1 (Controlled Threat - Green Level): Minimal danger, easily contained.
Tier 2 (Moderate Risk - Yellow Level): Potential threat but manageable with proper containment.
Tier 3 (High Risk - Orange Level): Dangerous entity requiring strict containment and oversight.
Tier 4 (Extreme Hazard - Red Level): Capable of mass destruction or reality-altering consequences.
Tier 5 (Catastrophic Event-Class - Black Level): Global or existential threat. Total failure of containment could result in irreversible catastrophe.
