The Demonic Skybox

Every good 3D environment needs a tasty skybox and since Project Skellywagon plays in the city of Pandemonium - an absurdly big city full of demons - we went for a red sky, a dark cityscape and a huge evil spiraling vortex of pure evil right above it. MUHAHAHAHA

Here is a small behind the scenes pic of the cityscape - right now its rather simple, but it will get more complex the further we go into the project.
The vortex is made purely in the skybox shader that we built for the game.

Here is a little look of it’s graph:

Obviously the shader is much more complex than it should be, but I go a bit carried away with the details here and there and BOOM: This shader came out. Performance-wise it doesn’t seem to be problem, so it stays the way it is for now

Next up is the mechanical taxi driving prototype. See you very soon!

If you find this project interesting, give it a follow - you won’t be disappointed! ;)

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
