You might've seen that there haven't been any progress updates on Cookie Run: OVENGLITCH lately.
Well, that's because there hasn't been any progress. At all.
As you might've seen in one video, I intended Cookie Run: OVENGLITCH's Overhaul Update to come out on Ovenbreak's 10th Anniversary to make it more special. Due to various things in life (like me working on many important projects), that might no longer be the case.
Why is that?
I. MOTIVATION
I've been struggling with motivation to continue this project, to the point where I'd just write a few sentences and call it a day. I've always wanted to work on projects like PUYO PUYO FEVER RPG, an RPG Maker MV fangame based on Puyo Puyo. Unlike OVENGLITCH, motivation to work on the project crept back on me until I've decided I'm going to halt the hiatus and go back to work on it, full-time.
What does this mean for OVENGLITCH's release date?
Its new release date will be When it's done.
II. REPUTATION
In case it wasn't obvious, OVENGLITCH is based on both Cookie Run and Learning with Pibby: Apocalypse, or Pibby for short. It revolved around a young girl from a preschoolers' cartoon whose world got invaded by the Darkness (or, TERMINATION in this canon). She discovers the cartoon multiverse and has to team up with surviving characters, both original and pre-existing, to stop the calamity.
It never got picked up for a full series.
It's a good thing because... In hindsight, it would've been a licensing NIGHTMARE. It's a bad thing because creators deserve to have their stories told.
If you've been on the social media side of things (especially Twitter since it's... Twitter), you might know that Pibby is HATED there. While sure, it does have its fair share of fans, you're mostly going to see haters there. Half the fault is because of a certain rhythm game that I'm not going to mention. I think you know the one.
Heck, I haven't been in the Pibby fandom myself. I've stopped interacting with it since like... 2024? 2023? I've practically contained myself in the OVENGLITCH fandom. If it even has one.
Am I going to risk getting dogpiled by people just because this game contains content from a pilot that is divisive online? No.
III. CONTENT
Keep in mind this isn't the only Cookie Run project I'm making.
I have other projects too, like Academy AU, End of Reality and an unnamed Team Eclipse-made racing game, just to name a few.
With me having to focus on all these projects, my attention towards OVENGLITCH has been lowering and lowering until I can't bring myself to work on it.
So you know what happened.
ABOUT COOKIE RUN: CATACLYSM
It's cancelled.
With the new strategy put in place, CATACLYSM seems more difficult to reach to the point where it's just impossible. It needed a full team of developers, and with me deciding to have none of that for now, I think it's best if I just let it go.

Team Eclipse's getting its own Overhaul, rather than this game.
Applications to work on the next Team Eclipse project, the unnamed Cookie Run Racing game, will go up soon.
