Here’s a longer farewell message.
I didn’t completely intend to have this project become as popular as it was and still is. RBXLegacy was made as a test of my LUA skills for a LUA implementation in another one of my projects, FIREFIGHT RELOADED (which never got added). RBXLegacy started to become my most popular project and I was extremely proud of it.
The massive change of RBXLegacy being developed by 1 person (me) to it being developed by multiple people was a strange thing to adapt to for me mainly because I never really work with people all that often on projects, as I mostly work on my own. However, 1.18’s development cycle, especially around the middle of development, was hard for basically everyone to go through. There was drama every day between staff members on decisions to the mod and also due to personal problems between each other. I would like to apologize to Carrot, Nukley, Iago, Coke, and everyone involved in the many instances of drama on the RBXLegacy discord, sometimes caused by me. I wish it wasn’t like this but every person is different and not all people can work together.
Due to this, 1.18 became a rushed, nerfed shell of what it would have been due to disagreements in development, people leaving, and other factors. Not only that, but I was slowly losing interest in making the mod, slowly making cool ideas for it just so I can have something to do with it. Most of these ideas never came into fruition mostly due to lack of interest and a focus towards other projects. This ended up killing RBXLegacy in terms of development.
However, it doesn’t mean that the mod is dead because there are no more updates to it. RBXLegacy will still be alive as long as people are willing to play it and have fun. RBXLegacy was built from the ground up as a way to play old Roblox even if finobe or even Roblox itself shuts down. Due to that, I consider it immortal. That’s all that matters to me honestly.
The final update will provide, I hope, more integrity to both versions that are available and offer some sort of personal choice. 1.16.2 has some features from 1. 18 while 1.18.1 fixes a major issue that still occurs to this day.
There may be minor security patches, however new feature additions will no longer be a thing.
The Discord will still be up and I will stay here forever. If you want to invite some people here, please do so.
I thank you all for your support during the project’s development. It makes me happy to finally consider it fully complete. The fact that I now have a complete project really means a lot to me and it actually means I can complete something before canceling it halfway into development.
Bitl, RBXLegacy Creator.
