The Forgotten Legend: Devlog beginning

Hello everyone!
Our team is now starting to write our Devlog about the game The Forgotten Legend. We hope all of you enjoy our posts and our news!

First of all, we decided to change the Game Engine used to make The Forgotten Legend. As everybody know, we made the demo version in Unity, but now we’re using Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) . You can ask: Why? So, here are some reasons:

  • We got better graphics quality than we got in Unity.

  • Unreal Engine has a tool for cinematics in-game, so that will be really convenient for us.

  • Level lighting is better and easier to do.

  • The Landscape tool in UE4 has more tools and options than Terrain Generator in Unity.
    _ And more…

So, it wasn’t an easy decision, but necessary. Of course, we had to take a time to learn the new Engine and its tools.

But now, we are working hard on this project and we would like to show you some screenshots of the game in the new Engine.

Stay with us, and we will try to release news monthly.
Thank you for everybody who follow us and has given us feedback.
See you in the next post!

A house I've built a while ago. :)

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.

It's built with painted Ebonstone.

Spaaaace~

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
