Hey everyone, this is pretty big news concerning how things are going to turn out for a while.
I may as well start with the bad news: I’m done with TE. I’m stopping with TE games because it’s limitations are starting to become very apparent to me. I have lots of game ideas that I can’t realise because they simply wouldn’t work as TE games because of how limited the engine is. I know I have said many times in the past that I’m done with it, however, I kept going back to it because I had game ideas that I could make in it. As such I have had enough and I will no longer be using it (at least until I finish one or two more things) and because of this Wasted Glory will not be finished. As well as the above, another reason for cancelling Wasted Glory is that I’m afraid of disappointing with it. Wasted Glory was planned to be a reimagining of my first fnaf fan game. However, I feel that the original game is quite bad and I don’t think I will be able to fix it with Wasted Glory. The story is just so bad and seeing the number of people excited about this game makes me worry that I will disappoint with this. Basically, I don’t think Wasted Glory is going to be good and I don’t want to release a shit game. A good game has style and substance, and while Wasted Glory has style, I feel that it ultimately will lack in substance, and I don’t want to release a game like that.
Now to the good news:
I’m planning to spend a lot of time learning a proper game engine! I’m not sure what engine I will end up using, but I’m hoping to give Unity and Clickteam a try. Also, although I am done with TE, I plan to release a build containing as much of the Wasted Glory main game as I managed to work on, not to mention I’m working on a small, goodbye project that should hopefully be released either this week or next week (fingers crossed). I also may release a short (and purposefully bad) fnaf fan game of a fun game. This game was made in a different (but still shit) game engine. What’s more, while I’m learning a new “proper” game engine I may work on small, fun side projects in other game engines. These side projects won’t be anything amazing, but hopefully, they will make the long wait a bit more bearable for you guys.
Hope this clears things up and I hope you are as excited for the future as much as I am!
