The Future of PinesQuest 2D... Means Not Giving Up!!

Today is June 15th, Fallers! Meaning it’s not only the birthday of our favorite pair of Grunkles, Stan and Ford Pines, it’s the 6th anniversary of Gravity Falls! I might as well take this update to wish Alex and Ariel Hirsch an early happy birthday too, since I will be busy next week on the 18th for reasons I’m about to explain…

Long story short, after about a year of job hunting, I’ve finally landed a full time job. Part of me hoped I would be able to finish and release PinesQuest 2D before this point, but as I’ve learned by now, stuff happens and things don’t always work out the way you want or expect. Basically what this means is now I’ll only have the weekends to work on the game, which is roughly 72% less time than I’ve had up until now. (At least that’s what Google tells me. I suck at math)

As a result, I’ve decided to change PQ2D’s release date one last time, at least until the full game is complete and is ready to go into its final run of closed beta testing. And that release date is….. (drum roll)………..

(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ WHENEVER IT’S READY

Yep, I’m no longer going to try to estimate to any degree when the game will be done. I’d still love it to be done this summer! I’d still love it to be done this year! But between contributors/helpers coming and going, my own life and now my new job, it’s all too unpredictable and I’d be lying to you all if I continued to say I knew for a fact that was possible. The last thing I’d want to do is give everyone who’s been kind enough to follow this game and its development anything but the truth, even if it’s a difficult or disappointing truth.

As the title of this post says though, regardless of losing majority of my free time to work on the game, I’m not giving up… and I promise you right here and now, my fellow loyal Fallers, that I never, ever will. No matter what happens or how long it takes, I’m going to see PinesQuest 2D to the end. It’s a project I’m already unbelievably proud of and I’m as passionate about it as I am Gravity Falls itself. As Alex Hirsch and his crew continue to give us new Gravity Falls content, such as the Lost Legends graphic novel releasing next month, even more than 2 years after the end of the TV series, I’ll be doing the same. Just remember….
