So when I opened up Gamejolt today to post that beta testing was nearing completion, I was met with the news regarding the Gamejolt team and what appears to be censorship of creators who criticize them on their changes to the website.
As a smaller creator, I was worried about whether I should even discuss this. I have little reach as is, if I spoke out against this supposed censorship, my chances of being discovered by the wider fangame community would go down the drain.
But if these claims are true, I don't want to just sit on the sidelines and do nothing.
My only concern is that I don't know what to do. Especially since I have so little reach. I've seen others mention moving to itch, but I don't know anything about how to post games on itch. Plus setting up an account and all that. It's a hassle I don't feel like doing unless there is no other choice.
All I will say is, if the allegations of Gamejolt censoring creators who have criticized their recent website changes are true, then I am strongly against them.
I just hope that whatever is going on sorts itself out and everything turns out ok in the end.
