The Great Menu Update - Friday Lookback

This past week I’ve been slowly working down my list of things that need to be done before the upcoming demo update. And I’m ready to show off the work I’ve done.

But first I want to clear something up. On my last post, somehow, by cutting and pasting text around, I managed to say that I wasn’t going to add a boss battle. Somehow, my list of things that I wanted to do, ended up being a list of things I’m not going to do. This was due to my lack of proofreading. I’m sorry about any confusion. I’ve edited the post so that it actually says what I mean for it to say. Again, I’m sorry. I’ll be proofreading much more thoroughly from now on.

Well, anyway, the first thing on the list is to finish updating the menu and inventory screen. It took longer than I thought it would, but the pause menu is up and running:

I’ve managed to take all the clutter and stick it neatly into the “goods bag.” I’ve also taken the books and map pages and put them into the inventory screen for easier access.

And you’ll notice that the settings screen is now much more neat and organized.

I also did some modification to the “current events” page, so whenever quests get implemented into the game, they’ll have somewhere to be shown.

When I finally managed to wrap up work on the menu, I began working on the blacksmith shop. Putting the blacksmith shop together and furnishing it wasn’t the hard part. The most time consuming part of making the blacksmith shop was moving things around in the world so I could find a good place for it. I ended up completely overhauling the “secondary cave.” It took some time, but it was definitely worth it.

Once I was happy with the blacksmith shop and the newly overhauled cave, I did some graphic work on the items that you’ll be able to craft. I have nearly all the graphics I need for crafting, but I haven’t done any programming for the crafting yet. When next week comes, I’ll be ready to go.

Thanks for reading,
God bless
