Yeah, I knew this day would come. When I’d spill the beans and ruin it all. Well, to put it short…
I’m cancelling the game.
Not that very many people were interested in it, anyway - I just wanted to make this post so who did watch the game didn’t wonder why it disappeared all of a sudden.
Why did I cancel the game? I have several reasons for this.
Not to offend anybody, but all I’ve ever heard about this game was that it was a ripoff of ‘Five Nights at Thomas’. This isn’t true, as I already had the idea weeks before FNaT was even posted to GameJolt. Not saying that I came up with the idea first, all I’m trying to prove here is that I didn’t copy his idea.
Life. Yup, short and simple - life has gotten in the way and made this harder to make. While life played a part in it, it’s not the only reason why I didn’t find time to make it - this is explained later.
Most importantly, as last year progressed I started to realize something; I had several original ideas of my OWN that I should’ve been spending my time on. Not the crossover game of two franchises I had no part in that would’ve been overshadowed anyway. I wasn’t precisely wasting my time on this game, though - I’ve learned several things in game developing and I now really enjoy making games, regardless of how simple they are.
Yeah, I’m pretty sorry I had to cancel it, but I never guaranteed it’d be finished, ever. I’m disappointed I wasn’t able to make my mark anywhere, but hopefully with the knowledge I’ve gained I’ll be able to in the future with my own ideas.
Besides, I might even post what I DID get finished.
