Hello gentle followers!
I have some news for you; in the last couple of days the game's coder has done an impressive amount of progress in it, that pretty much means the final trailer is close to its release, expect it to come out either in late September or early/mid October, time will tell but it's surely close.
Asides from that, I think it's time to vent and reveal almost all of the scrapped and cut content of the game... and that's basically an entire build . Most of this content has already been revealed in TAALFS' private server, so why not share it with the rest of you? So you have a clear idea of what TAALFS could've been like if released in 2021-early 2022, and what you can no longer expect to see in the game when it comes out.
80's CARTOON INTRODUCTION
I had the idea of a VHS 80's cartoon intro presenting the characters and also crediting collaborators, I thought it was great at the time, maybe it still is, but I must admit the execution is goofy and poor to a degree.
THE MAIN MENU
Or more like menus, one of the things that changed the most during development was the main menu, went from really minimalistic to more appealing
There hasn't been a single menu for the game that follows the cliche FNAF formula (Character twitching on the right side of the screen with title in the upper left and options under it). I've got to say we've received positive opinions on the newest menu, which I swear is absolutely fantastic, it's a huge step forward from this minimal and basic UI designs.
THE GAMEPLAY
One of the smartest choices I made was planning out the gameplay from scratch for the current version; before, the gameplay was extremely dull and overall repetitive. Basically, just restoring failing systems, keeping temperature low and pushing back animatronics with electric shocks and alarms... and that's it, that's all it was about, the gameplay relied on a simple mechanic.
What you see in the video is in essence the same as in the screenshots, all that changes are the office and camera renders, it also reveals a small glimpse of voice acting! On an early stage of course, despite being the same voice actors, believe me, their portrayals have changed considerably.
THE STORY / THE VILLAIN / ETC.
Now this is the moment most TRTF haters will say "Bruh"... I understand it, but I promise you it's all trashed.
First, I need to introduce you to, who at one point, was meant to be the main antagonist.
Clarence A. Beff, just like the message says, was a jerky light imitation of Alison Bairren from the TRTF games... it's shameful, I know, though take in mind I was in my 12's/13's when I "came up" with the main plot point, and to me that was a great idea back then. Of course! Because no one would notice the similarities, right? No, very idiotic idea.
At first Clarence was written to be a ruthless, emotionless sociopath that was into very shady stuff but worked under the facade of a regular business man (Cough cough GUSTAVO FRING cough cough) and he had this really edgy backstory that involved abuse and all kinds of stuff.
Later on, before he was cut, I wrote him to be an actual regular business man who went insane after his wife died because of an unknown disease. The shady stuff Clarence was into was because he was trying his best to develop a cure for his wife. Now comes the TRTF time! So two of his loyal employees find this basement full of dead test subjects and blah blah blah, they report this to the authorities under a moral dilemma and he eventually finds out and gets one employee's family finished, and the other guy runs away.
There were other non explored sub plots supposed to be introduced in the game, such as the origin of the animatronics and the terminated kids which was a plot tied to Clarence's and blah blah blah, it was a damn scribble... it was like "BatMan & Robin".
I can't even recall exactly the argument behind Ashley's involvement, it really was something stupid and made no sense. Oh yeah, guess what, I had plans and even contacted Dave Steele (voice of Henry Emily from FFPS) for the first ending of the game, to give a dramatic speech to Ashley, for obvious I couldn't afford him, and considering that the whole plot was discarded from start to end, I'm glad I couldn't afford him... but I do have his audition line
Clarence is no longer a key piece to TAALFS, he's not mentioned in the game, he won't appear, he won't be referenced, he's a lost character now; but I do like to imagine he still exists in the game's universe, but merely as a regular and harmless business man somewhere in the world. The most important question in the current story is "Who or what is the villain?" playing with the mystery behind it is a lot more fun than having a cheap and poorly written copy of the antagonist from another fangame scrubbed right in front of your face.
Oh yeah, notice that BFP mock up as well, very original.
BONUS
WILLIAM AFTON CAMEO
Oh yeah, and Springbonnie was referenced in a "comical" way... also no, don't expect William to make any kind of appearance in the game, not even the most subtle.
CUSTOM NIGHT
And that's about it for now, I've been "keeping" these for a while, although I don't know why, I literally shared more than the half of the content in this devlog in my Discord server and other servers too. So this is what TAALFS was once meant to be, not the best game to be honest, but thank goodness evolution is a thing.
Hey! You also like that crappy 1000x700 resolution? And no, I promise TAALFS doesn't have any similarities with TRTF anymore.
Peace out!
