The Review

The Line, based on a song of similar title, is an application that many people would not classify as a game, due to how little input is used and how short it is. However, it shall be treated as such. It is a great game that pschologically connects with the player in a way even better than that of Jesse Venbrux’s (2Dcube) game Execution. The Line’s minimal controls and simple graphics force the player to focus on the game’s message and, for what little there is, gameplay, which greatley enhances the experience. The lack of sound adds to the game in the same way as well. The game’s only downfall is the fact that, after you have finished, there is no motivation to come back, although this was intended, and, this lack of replay value is expendable because The Line has a lasting effect on the player which makes it a success. Overall, The Line accomplished exactly what it meant to, with short and direct gameplay and a great story and message.

The Line is a great game that everyone should play. You will be touched by the message it so succesfuly gives.
