The Piano delayed ...

Hi everyone!

Let’s deal with the elephant in the room right away: The Piano didn’t come out in January as planned.

I want to be transparent with you about the reasons for this, which relate to several unfortunate events toward the tail end of 2016. After the death of a close family member, and a difficult medical diagnosis for my partner, which led to her being hospitalised for two months, I found it hard to focus on finishing the game. My intention was to crunch through and wrap up the project, but things didn’t pan out the way I hoped. Ultimately I had to take on more web design work to support myself, my partner and my dog.

During this time we also identified some things we weren’t 100% happy with in the game. We re-wrote part of the script, which meant we’d have to get our voice actors back into the studio - something that couldn’t be arranged within the timeframe. So we’ve had to take the difficult, and admittedly very last-minute, decision to delay.

We’re sorry to keep you waiting. We also don’t want to commit to a new date, only to struggle to meet that too. But the game will be published in the near future, and I’ll make sure you’re kept abreast of developments.

As I write we have just begun our final testing phase of the game (albeit without final VOs). There are a few minor bugs that we are ironing out, and we’d like to take the opportunity to improve certain areas of the game that we weren’t quite happy with. We’re taking this as a blessing in disguise, and that we can make The Piano as good as it possibly can be.

Stay tuned - more updates will follow soon. And thanks for your patience.

I have added rewards for quests so that villagers can give you something in return for your hard work helping them. 🥳

I want to know - what's your favourite quest reward?

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.

Spaaaace~

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)

Drawn in Piskel using my mouse. Whaddya think?
