"The Pixel Medic" Version 0.4 released


Hi!

“The Pixel Medic” is back with Version 0.4 and is available for download! :)

The following changes were made since the last version:

  • Local Highscore
    Since the game is an arcade game, some highscore should be available. In this version you’ll get it and be able to save your score and compete with your friends.

  • Power Ups
    I’ve added some Power Ups to improve the gameplay. Right now, there are three Power Ups which are spawning randomly: Faster Movement, Double Score Points and Immediately NPC Spawn.

  • Visual Juice
    I’ve watched some videos and read articles about how juice can improve the visual experience of the game and adapted some ideas. Now it looks more polished than before (little particle effects here, bigger ones there…) :)

  • Kindof chiptune music for Game Over and Highscore screen
    Sadly, I’m no musican but I played around with the freeware tracker FamiTracker the last weeks. At least two little chiptunes were made for Game Over screen and for reaching a new record in highscore.

I hope you enjoy rescuing little cute NPCs in this version and I’m looking forward for your feedback! :)
