My current plan for SOS is this: I am not much of a programmer. Neither am I much of a musician. And I am certainly not a one person army. Anyone I know who is these things is also busy with their own projects like Undertale Yellow, or life in general. I am, however, a decent sprite artist I think. With that in mind, I have a plan for the beginnings of SOS. It will be started as an Inverted Fate-style sprite comic, up to the end of the first area. Ideally, this would get people interested in SOS. From there, I could get musicians to do music, maybe even played along to the comic like IF does. I want to at least try to learn some programming myself, but even then I'm no master at it, and SOS will be ambitious for me alone.
If I do start programming myself, I'll be taking another page from IF and doing single battles to start. SOS' combat will (probably) be a bit different than what people are used to, so getting something out there for people to actually play will be important. Heck, if what I envision turns out fun, I might make other small battles for practice unrelated to SOS! Maybe. I'd love to keep SOS' development fresh somehow. Little side projects here and there, minor NPC reveals, even just neat objects, I wanna keep people engaged. But I can only do so much on my own, and there's a LOT to do, and I'll need help. I don't even have much of the base UT cast/story to modify and build off like IF and UTY. It's all from scratch from here. New cast, new locations, new experiences. It's exciting... but daunting.
With that out of the way, my point is I need a team, and I don't have that, so I'm making do with what I do have until I can get one. SOS part 1 will be first revealed as a sprite comic as was said. It won't be a perfect reflection of the final game, since there's lots of time for me to learn and grow, to get more voices, to expand ideas. But it will give everyone a taste of what the game could be, including myself. So see you soon hopefully!
