Hey everyone, before we continue, I'd like to confirm PYFS is releasing later today at around 3 PM EST. Be there, or be square (you're gonna be that either way).
Now that we've got that out of the way, let's talk about TRTF.
Who knew that what started as an amalgamation of Scott Cawthon's assets would later on become one of the oldest (and dare I say, one of the most influential) fangame series? Not me.
I first learned about The Return To Freddy's when it was still named "Five Nights at Freddy's 3". I was already a fan of FNaF for a few months now, eagerly waiting for the third game. This so-called "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" definitely caught my attention back then, as I remember watching loads of videos about it.
Then, silence. For a good few months at least. My interest in the series came back when I learned of the third game. I was hooked instantly! Something about the office and the way you'd turn around and the minigames really interested me back then. And then the fourth game released too, and while I still liked the third game more, I definitely appreciated this sequel too.
Then... not silence. BFP back then announced The Return To Freddy's 5. It felt unreal, even Scott himself commented! I was watching all sorts of videos about it, including this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBABiEseWQA (you'll see this video be referenced in PYFS quite a couple of times).
Then, silence, again. Sometime in 2016, I entirely disconnected from the series, just like that.
Fast forward to late 2022. I'm checking my recommended section on YouTube when I notice something. It was a video from IULITM titled "The Return To Freddy's 3: Bonum Iterum". And boom, my mind was flooded with memories. This game, this series, that I spent so much time caring for, came back, just like that.
And now, fast forward to today, I'm making fan remakes of this series. Crazy, isn't it?
I've met a lot of people in the past two years, and became friends with a lot of them. None of this would've happened had I not gotten into TRTF. And this is why I'll always be grateful for it, despite the controversies.
I'd like to thank Tyler Ahlstrom/BFPFilms424 for creating this series, even if he hasn't cared for it in what seems to be years now (though I'd love to get proven wrong today).
The 10th anniversary special will premiere later today. Though we won't be in it, we recommend you to watch it, as there will be lots of very cool surprises. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okbMd5fLy58
With that being said, I'd like to wish everyone reading this a happy TRTF 10th anniversary and also a happy holiday season! Take care.
